Great place. The room with the facilities was exceptional. Only the issue was location.

“Bindu's Homestay was a delight with fantastic cooking.”

We stayed at Bindu Homestay for one night to see the Buduruwagala Ancient Site the next day on the way to Dickwella. Obviously the ancient site was amazing and a must see, but our stay at Bindu's turned out to be exceptional. The guesthouse is wonderful. Located in the back lanes near Wellawaya and just lovely for wandering around exploring the local area and people. The true star of our stay was Bindu's wife, such a nice person and a super host and cook. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. We did not meet Bindu as he was away due to his taxi business. Our room was very clean, comfortable and with good air conditioning. Dinner and breakfast was superb. Amazing ginger tea. Highly recommended.

“Good location for Buduruwagala Raja Maha Viharaya”

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and pillows. We have been in Sri Lanka 19 days so far, staying in home stays and the food in Bindu was exceptional to us. Lovely hosts.

We received great hospitality from.Bindu and his wife. Thier little boy escorted us to the park for a walk which was lovely. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. However we were disappointed with the room as it looked nothing like the pictures..for instance the bright blue paint in the bathroom was flaking off and looked really tatty. Bedlinen was poor quality as were the towels..one looked like a microfiber travel towl. It was a shame as had those things been better we could have scored higher. We were also disturbed by loud noise from a neighbours party which Bindu had been invited to so was aware and perhaps should have offerred us the chance to cancel as it was really loud till the early hours. With a little effort this homestay could be really nice as the hosts were really lovely and friendly.

Our whole experience there was terrible. Disgusting bathroom with cold water only and confrontational attitude of the owner ruined our stay.

quiet location away from the noise of the main street. the room was basic but perfectly clean. our host was extremely kind and friendly. they prepared a delicious dinner and even had coffee waiting for us for our early morning departure. we felt very comfortable, it was very homely.

The only positive aspects were the breakfast and dinner. Both were delicious and filling! The older child served the meals to us very kindly.

Mr. Bindu is very friendly and he is also a local guide with deep knowledge about the area.

Amazing Homestay!

Bindu, his family, and his friends are very hospitable people. When we arrived we went to Buduruwagala. After we came back to Bindu's place we had one of the best rice n curry during our time in Sri Lanka. And in the morning we for sure had the best breakfast in our 3 week journey. Thanks a lot again #Bindu's wife :). At this day we did a trip to explore the near by waterfalls. It was super good to be guided by Bindu's friend Nuwan who grew up in this area and knows all the short cuts in the region. He is a fun guy and we had a nice time. Regards to Nuwan. Thanks for showing the beautiful spots. We highly recommend this place.and thank the family and friends for the nice memories. Lilli and Marius

The family are so kind! We had breakfast and dinner there and it was absolutely amazing!!

Wauw what a superb hostmanship! Everything was superb: beds, airco, hot shower, table and hangmat in front of the room, the dinners, the breakfast, communication! If you want the owner is also a guide who can drive you to secret places by car. We went to the nearby waterfall Diyaluma Falls and there you can spent a hole day in the different pools (350 rp). Bring your own food and water in the falls but have lunch/dinner in an local ashtablishment to support the community (not expensive as maybe expected, rice and curry 1200 rp).

“Clean, cool and comfort”

After a hot journey by bike on the main road, we where happy to have a room with airconditioning. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean. We had a very extensive breakfast. We also got offered an avocado juice as a welcome drink after arrival.
