Neranga and his family are the kindest people, big smiles, open hearts and very knowledgeable about their own gardening, growing and planting! The garden tour Neranga gave us was very interesting! And the food! The food is absolutely delicious and abundant, breakfast as well as dinner, homemade with love, with lots of herbs, spices, rice etc. from their garden and things that we have not tried before. The location and the treehouse are just beautiful, especially the rooftop, among nature with all its sounds of birds, monkeys etc. Away from the crowds, but still very close to the beach, 20 min walk or short TukTuk ride. We enjoyed every moment very much!!! Thanks a million to Neranga and his family!

Love this stay so much! The treehouse is incredible! Loved being immersed in the jungle sounds. The host was so lovely. I stayed for dinner which I would highly recommend. Still one of the best meals I’ve had in Sri Lanka!

The place was absolutely amazing and the people who run it also. They had the best bed I’ve slept in in the Sri Lanka. It was a fan and the air-conditioning a fridge. The bathroom that’s kind of outside was just magical. They also had the hot water. I really loved this place. It felt like I was in a fairytale. You can also see monkeys around in the trees.

Neranga took such care to show us round the property and the huge variety of plants that grow in the forest around the tree. The tree house is so beautifully constructed and includes both air con and WiFi- quite a feat!

An enjoyable experience. The family of the tree house took care of us from the first moment there. The most remarkable thing was the Srilanken breakfast experience. Incredible! Lovely view from the open toilet on the tree.

This is the most amazing place to stay and what a job they have done building their treehouses in the forest. There are trees growing inside! The most lovely hosts who cooked us special fantastic typical Sri Lankan evening meal and breakfast. To sit on the verandah with a beer watching the monkeys in the trees was an incredible experience. The owners are so passionate about their place and their home grown spices, fruits and vegetables. Unique. Please visit.

Everything! This was our favourite place we stayed in the 2 weeks we were in Sri Lanka. Amazing hosts, so accommodating, going about and beyond. The tree house is so special, brilliantly built. Great location. Midigama is lovely itself, but is also a very short tuk tuk to Weligama.

One of my absolute favorite accomodations in Sri Lanka! The host is incredibly friendly, we enjoyed the tour through his Garden. He knows so much about plants and how to use them. He's passionate in explaining everything and he has so many skills. Also his family is wonderful and friendly. The treehouse was made from his Grandfather and its so luxury, it has a AC too, which surprised us so much! The breakfast was the best we had in whole sri lanka! I dont know what else to say, but - only compliments! Taking a shower while hearing the birds and enjoyint the nature is also the best thing ever. Thanks a lot!

“Incredible 5 Days with an Amazing Host Family”

My partner and I stayed 4 nights in the double story tree house, and our stay with Neranga and his family was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. Impeccable hospitality unlike anything we have ever experienced. The breakfast each morning is incredible with each dish explained in detail, often sourced from their own garden. Neranga was also fantastic at answering any and all questions we had about it the south coast, where to visit, how to get around etc. There is plenty of wildlife on their property, including a variety of birds and monkeys. The tree house itself is very well built and well equipped with everything you need. It was nice being tucked away in a more rural setting as it is not difficult to arrange transport through PickMe, Uber, or TukTuks. We highly recommend Tree House-Midigama. We could. It have asked for better hosts and it made out stint along the South Coast that much more enjoyable. Neranga and his family do a remarkable job as hosts 🙌🏼

“Amazing and couldn’t ask for anything better. My favourite stay in Sri Lanka.”

My partner and I stayed in the tree house for 1 night and it was perfect. The son checked us in and made us feel so welcome. We were welcomed with drinks and a whole table full of snacks which wasn’t included so it was very thoughtful. The tree house itself is so clean, comfy and cozy. I could have stayed there for multiple nights. The location is good if you don’t mind walking it’s only a 15 min walk to Midigama junction where you can get a tuk tuk. We had breakfast included and it was so overwhelmingly amazing! There was a big variety of food and the father made us some herbal teas. Before we checked out, the son gave us a tour of their spice garden which was very cool. The mother and father don’t speak much English but they are so lovely and friendly and the son is so sweet as well. Please stay here, you won’t be disappointed.

The treehouse was amazing. We were not expecting air conditioning but were very happy to see it. The welcoming afternoon tea was lovely. Breakfast was great. The host was brilliant. So incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us a tour of his garden. Would definitely recommend this place.

As we arrived we were greeted with cold wet towels while the host prepered an insanly eleborate "welcome tea" - it was more like a taste-through the specialities of the country plus a Black tea with a scent of gingen and lime - both from the own garden! After petting the two kittens we explored the tree house. The tree house is amazing: offering a huge terrace on the second floor and a not so spacious but lovely crafted interior. The bathroom is outside but protected from rain. One time while showering, we even had a Kingfisher watching us! Apart from the treehouse, what also separates this homestay from others is the amazing host family. In the morning, we got tea up on the Terrace while watching the birds, we got many good Tips for our stay, a very detailed tour through the garden (including tasting of coconut in ways we didn't think possible) and an enormous, varied and authentic sri lankan breakfast. On the second day we decided to hsve dinner at the homestay and asked if that would be possible. He explaind that they only offered surprise dinners with varying dishes. Because the meal is always different, there was no clear price to it. He told us that we should just pay what the meal is worth to us. In the end, the surprise dinner was a banquet under candle lights, with seafood, Curry and everything Else you could wish for. Upon receiving the receit for our stay, we saw that neither the extra tea we drank, nor the water we ordered, nor our goodbye lime juice were added to the price. All was included in good hospitality. We even got a fairwell gift when we left. I think this was our 10th guest house during our travels in sri lanka, but i can say surely that it was the best. Main points: food, hospitality, treehouse, kittens. What else to say.
