“A great stay surrounded by nature at Nature Rex 🌴🌊”

Pretty great place, and everything worked nicely. Situated within walking distance of key spots, regardless if you're here for surfing, or not. Clean, and stylish. I liked the place, especially the outside kitchen made in traditional Sri Lankan style (mud, I only saw that inside Yala Park on our recent tour of the island). Overall a great stay, and the family running this business is lovely, including young 3-year old Leo Heloves playing ball, so I can see his future on a national team some day. I'm sending love and peace vibes to the family 🌴🌊

Love how it was really close the beach and the host and his family had such good vibes.

I gave 10 because it's impossible to give more. In resume because I felt in home since the first time and during the whole stay, and because I made friends that for sure I will see again in the future. The hostel in run by a fantastic couple, that are very welcoming and helpful. Thank you Mandara for all the great moments!

I had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at Nature Rex. Bandara and Nadeesha were fantastic hosts but their son, Leo and dog, Lillie steals the show hands down. I came for one night but stayed on for 11. The beach is very close to the hostel, perfect for a early morning or late night swim. Highly highly recommend their place and I'd definitely be back next time. Cheers!

For me, this place was absolutely lovely, it felt like home for the time I stayed there. The room has a mosquito net on the widow, which really helps with your sleep. It's only a few minutes walk from the main road, where there are buses running, as well as walking distance to the beach. They also have a kitchen you can use, and a lovely green outside area. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you! 🙏

Family were lovely and genuine. I felt comfortable and at home at the homestay. Bathroom had very cool shower concept.

I wouldn’t define it as a hostel but rather as a guesthouse run by a young local family with an adorable child. They were very kind and helpful, making it a great option for a short and budget-friendly stay. However, the property does not have a fridge or an indoor kitchen—only an outdoor one—so keeping drinks cool isn’t possible (though you can ask the family to store them in their personal fridge), nor is storing any other type of food. I booked a private room, which looked very spacious in the photos, but in reality, it wasn’t. The main highlight was supposed to be the open-ceiling shower, which, while Instagram-worthy, turned out to be quite impractical—moss everywhere, insects coming in from outside, extreme humidity. The room had no AC, and the only way to sleep was with a mosquito net around the bed, which was very uncomfortable. The same ceiling opening was also in the bedroom, meaning rain would get in, moss grew all over, and insects were everywhere, making the humidity unbearable. I strongly recommend booking the other private room with AC instead, as this one is not worth it—you can find better options for the same price. Additionally, the rooms do not have adaptors, and in fact, my personal adaptor got fried by the only available socket at the shared table, which was unsuitable. In the bedroom, I even got an electric shock, which could have been dangerous. I don’t even remember if there was Wi-Fi—if there was, it probably didn’t work inside. Basic services that are available anywhere in the world were lacking here. I hope my review helps improve this place, as it has great potential.

So cute! I had a great time thank you. Loved the garden and my private room was the perfect place I needed while I was recovering from my injuries. The bathroom was lovely. Super clean and the owners were always so attentive and lovely. Loved the dogs!

It was one of the best places I stayed and had a pleasant time in Sri Lanka. The hostel owner is very nice and friendly to you. The kitchen is simple but has everything you need. What I like most is that the hostel is very quiet but also very close to things to do in the surrounding area. 200m from the beach and 2 km from Weligama beach. There are seating areas where you can have a pleasant time. Also they have very high speed internet. If you work online it’s very nice. It has a very positive impact on the time spent in this hostel. The hostel is cleaned regularly every day. I will come back here again one day. Thanks.
