“Perfect first stay in Weligama”

As an older female solo traveller (64) I felt really welcome and safe. Namal & his lovely family are amazing hosts and do everything possible to make you feel at ease. You literally feel like they are welcoming you into their home, which they are!! Whilst also giving you space to relax. I will definately be returning in the future and can highly recommend 🙏

It was one of the best stays I have been to in Sri Lanka. It was very clean and spacious.

“Disappointed”

Room was normal. No mold in the newly built part of the hotel. Breakfast was more expensive than agreed upon. Ingredients cost less than 200 SLR at the Cargills supermarket and he charges 2200.

Namal was an amazing host. Together with his wife and daughters, they really make you feel home at this place. We were welcomed by the dogs and with curry&rice. He dropped us by the beach with his tuktuk for our first Weligama surf session, and helped us with everything we needed local advice on. From organizing a day trip to Sinharaja waterfalls guided by his friend (it was an amazing trip!) to ordering a fair priced driver to take us to a Yala Safari. The guesthouse is very well established, we had a stylish and spacious room with terrace, very nice bathroom, clean, AC / fan, good wifi and the highlight: the rooftop area. Overlooking weligama & the ocean, it's a truly peaceful place to chill, have breakfast, work, do Yoga... Shaini and her mum were lovely co-hosts managing the food, coziness and functioning of the guesthouse. Breakfast was great! Thank you so much Namal, Shaini, Oshani and Sudu! + Chili and Brownie (the dogs ;)

I had a wonderful stay! Everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Namal and his family are incredibly kind, warm, and helpful – you immediately feel welcome. The accommodation is quiet, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

I don’t think I have enough words to describe our wonderful stay at Namal and his family’s homestay. We couldn’t have asked for better. We were really sad to leave, but we will definitely come back! First of all, Namal and his family are amazing people, with big hearts. They are incredibly kind, generous, and truly genuine. Namal is such a positive and sunny person. When we left, he even gave each of us a gift, which honestly touched us so much. The breakfasts and meals were very generous and absolutely delicious. The rooms are very nice and clean. There is also a rooftop with an incredible view over Weligama. Don’t hesitate for a second before booking! To sum up, everything was perfect. I am so grateful to have met Namal. I could write so much more, but simply: thank you for everything, and we will definitely see each other again!

What I liked most about the accommodation was the host. He is an extremely friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind person who makes you feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and nicely arranged, not over the top, just simply clean and comfortable. Another great plus is that you can rent a scooter directly from him, which is very convenient. the food at namal was outstanding. It was honestly the best food I had anywhere in Sri Lanka.

Namal, Sudu, Shaini and Oshani are the most wonderful hosts. They make you feel like part of the family and go above and beyond to help you during your stay. The breakfast is EPIC and they have great recommendations for activities. The homestay itself is extremely comfortable and beautiful, with views over Weligama bay. I could not recommend more, and I would love to return.

“Blown away out favourite place in three years coming to Sri Lanka”

Wow so much to say. The location is beautiful and only a ten minute walk to the town and beach. Stunning views with a beautiful rooftop vista. The owners treat you like family and nothing is too much trouble. Traditional Sri Lankan cooking lessons are offered which was amazing every step of the process is a culinary journey. Followed by an amazing meal of what you have also made. If Relaxing here is main aim of your stay there are so many options. A tour in theirs tuttut to expert guided surfing lessons. It’s also a great place to just relax and read or surf the internet. Beautiful clean stylish modern rooms we didn’t want to leave. We definitely will be back and I’m sure treated like family.

“Excellent value rooms perched on a hill overlooking the beach”

Clean quiet rooms with very friendly owners (who we sadly did not meet until the last day because they were busy helping some other guests). We got the impression that if you stayed here for longer you really would become part of the family. The room was small but had everything we needed, including a mosquito net, and was excellent value for money. The views from the rooftop restaurant was sublime. The hotel is a little far from the town/ the beach but I can imagine that living right by the beach could be noisy and hectic. The walk is a bit hot and dusty and if you are nervous walking along the road then you should probably get a tuktuk.

We had an absolutely amazing time staying with Namal and his family. We felt really comfortable, everything was clean and the outdoor area always invited us to spot different wildlife like birds and monkeys. But the most important thing to mention is that Namal and his family are the kindest people you can imagine. They always looked after us, welcomed us every morning with a coffee or tea and we also had one home cooked dinner from his wife which was absolutely delicious. Furthermore, they have a rooftop with an amazing view over Weligama. We can highly recommend this place and will definitely come back soon.
