“Wonderful place - if only the neighbours were not ....”

Away from the touristy Weligamas, Moonlit Bay is secluded in a side street of Fisherman Village; nevertheless very easy to reach by bus. 15 minutes walk to Jungle Beach. Perfect for relaxing. The hostess and her family are very friendly and accommodating; the room with bathroom spacious with spacious balcony.

This place is a real gem for the price. It’s extremely clean and offers very fast, reliable internet—perfect if you need to work remotely. We initially booked just one night, but ended up extending our stay to three nights because of the peaceful atmosphere and the very pleasant, welcoming host. Nearby, we discovered a lovely little beach spot where we relaxed without the crowds and went swimming every morning. You can easily interact with the locals, who are kind and friendly, and even enjoy home-cooked food from people in the area. If you’re into surfing, this is an ideal location. Highly recommended for a calm, authentic stay.

Friendly owner, very cute dog!, very clean, close to a bus station

Moonlit Bay is my favorit place to stay when I visit the Weligama area. Usually I stay up to 1 month at the time. The location is perfect for me. The location is situated right next to surfing at fishermans point if you like to do that and easy access to Weligama town, 2 minutes by bus. The room have everything I need. A comfortable bed, ensuit bathroom, a nice balcony and an extra sink were I can wash up some clothes. I also have access to a refridgerator and a nice sitting area with tables and sofas. But best of all with this place is defenately the owner family. They are the best and very kind people, always friendly and with a smile. They keep my room and the hole place clean and tidy and they make me feel very welcome and give me a feeling of being at home. I love this place.

I had a wonderful stay at Moonlit Bay. Good atmosphere, clean and spacious rooms and amazing breakfast. Looking forward to coming back!

“Felt like home and coudn’t ask for more!”

Property was located next to the fisherman’s bay and very close to beautiful Jungle beach. The room was spacious, beautiful and very clean! ☺️ Breakfast was big and great and you are free to choose between western and sri lankan beakfast. The owners were very very nice and listened to all the wishes! I felt like home here and can’t recommend this Guest House more!🤗🧡 I’m definitely coming back!

Amazing place with beautiful people !!! The room was really nice, big, clean and comfortable ! :) Plenty of cupboards to put clothes, backpacks etc. A big racks to dry towels and clothes. The balcony was also very nice and the bathroom super clean with a big mirror and very good lights everywhere !!!! The room as a fan which works perfectly well. The breakfast was plentiful and wonderful with fresh juice every mornings :) I booked for 1 night and extended for 3 nights, I felt great there :) I highly recommend Moonlit Bay Welligama The location is also really good, not far from Welligama main beach and 15min walk from the beautiful Jungle beach and a bit further Coconut Beach. Away from the noise of the town it was a quiet and enjoyable place :) The lady who run the place is lovely, always smiling and will help you with everything you need. Thanks again for this beautiful stay I really enjoyed it ! :)

Very friendly and hospitable house-owner. On the first day, we were served a delicious home-made breakfast. Comfy and large bed. Great location, just next to the Weligama Bay.

“perfect spot for workation and surf”

Shanika is simply the best host you can think of. Her breakfast is always something special, she easily adapted to vegan diet, she and her husband were there for us, whatever was going on, we've had amazing and deep talks and the stay was simply magical. After three months, this was the first time in Sri Lanka were we felt like friends and really connecting with the hosts. We left with tears in our eyes, after hugging good bye these wonderful people ♥️ the internet in the common area is exceptionally good, super comfortable to work from there. The secret Surfspot Fisherman's Reef is 2 minutes away by feet. The perfect spot for workation and surf :) this was the golden finale of a 3 months trip, never could have imagined it better!
