I had an excellent stay at Maneesha Guest House in Weligama. The family Banndara and their son Randika who run this place are super friendly and made me feel right at home.The room was very clean and comfortable and dinners cooked by the family were delicious. If you are looking for a peaceful place, in the middle of nature, this guest house is a great choise. Highly recommend.

“Beautiful and welcoming”

The guesthouse and the area are so beautiful. The family who runs it is super lovely. I felt like I would be visiting my grandparents ♥️ the views are spectacular, I was watching so many different birds from the balcony. Really quite and local neighbourhood.

I could write so many lovely things about this homestay! We initially booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 9 because it was just perfect. We arrived late and were welcomed with cinnamon tea and spiced sugar rotis which were lovely. Our first day Randika took us into town in his TukTuk and showed us all the best spots (restaurants/fruit shop/bakery/surf school etc) and dropped us off to hire a bike. So nice to have the local recommendations straight away! The apartment is very clean, spacious and has everything you need including a kitchen if you want to cook. A highlight is the gorgeous balcony which is nestled within nature. The family will make you feel so welcomed and they’ll brew you the most delicious fresh cinnamon tea. They are so lovely and can’t do enough for you during your stay, but strike the perfect balance between chatting and leaving you privacy to enjoy the space. I can’t recommend this homestay enough we were so sad to be leaving!

I initially booked for 3 nights but ended up staying almost 10 because everything was perfect. The family is incredibly kind and welcoming — you really feel at home here. Randika, who manages the guesthouse, is especially friendly and always takes the time to chat, check if everything’s okay, and help with anything you might need. He’s from Weligama and knows everyone around, which is great if you want local tips. The room and bathroom were spotless, the house is very quiet, and the location is excellent. Honestly, I couldn’t find a single downside. Highly recommended!

“Excellent place in nature.”

Perfect place for me out in the nature. I booked 10 days but stayed an extra week. The family is so welcoming and friendly. Don't hesitate to book this place. It is 2 km from the beach which was perfect for me. No loud buses of horns beeping like you get nearer town. A big thankyou to Randika and his wonderful parents for making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. I stayed in the double room with balcony, but I also had a look at the yoga room and the apartment. All are great places to stay and good value. The food is lovely and try the cinnamon tea it is fantastic. 😀❤️❤️❤️

“If you're travelling south, do not miss this guesthouse”

No words can describe love and care this family can give you. ❤️ Randika and his parents do their best to make you feel like home. Rooms are clean, well furnished. Guesthouse is located in the jungle, it's a great place to relax. You'll see and hear birds, squirrels and other amazing animals. City and beaches are easily reachable. We had an amazing breakfast every morning. Big thanks to Randika's family. 🙏🏻

“A Perfect Stay”

It’s my sixth week staying with this wonderful family and from the very beginning this place felt like home thanks to their warmth and kindness. They really are some of the most lovely and genuine people I’ve ever met on all of my travels. What I value the most is that they’ve always been there for friendly chats and to help when needed but that they have completely respected my privacy and quiet time too. The house itself is absolutely stunning and so spacious. I couldn’t believe that I had such a beautiful room and balcony all to myself. The kitchen has also been very handy for preparing quick meals, the hot water in the shower is much appreciated and I haven’t had any issues with the WiFi either. Relaxing on the balcony, enjoying the peace and quiet, luscious green surroundings and watching the wildlife after a busy day of exploring and surfing really is the perfect way to unwind. Couldn’t ask for more or thank them enough for this fantastic time!!!

Where to begin.... going to Maneesha guesthouse LITERALLY feels like going home. As a solo woman, it's very important I feel comfortable and safe. Here, I feel loved and cared for like I am at home with my family. This is my 4th time in 5 years staying with this amazing family!! I cant stay away and i will definitely be back ❤️ Amma and appa are the most beautiful people and nothing is ever too much trouble. Randika (their son) is an amazing human who will be my brother for life ❤️ he will assist you with any question you may have about exploring sri lanka, including places not many tourists get to visit (and look out for his new tour guide business in the future 😍😍😍😍) They must offer the best hospitality in the world!! I have been to many places and countries and nothing comes close. You will never be hungry or thirsty, with theeee MOST delicious homemade food and drinks and plentiful portions. They can help you with scooter rental from an outstanding bike shop with top quality bikes. Randika also gave me an excellent scooter lesson to brush up on my skills and help me be fully capable driving sri lankan roads! The backthroom and room are spotless and comfortable (best pillows in sri lanka!). You'll be sure to get great sleeps here! Behind the house is a cinnamon plantation and in front is gorgeous green jungly goodness. You can relax on the balcony watching the squirels run around the trees. Monkeys and beautiful birds can be seen too. Plus the occasional wandering peacock 😄 Basically, 100000/10. ISTUTI, BUDU SARANAYI ❤️

“Home away from Home”

From beginning to end, everything was perfect. This is the best place we have stayed so far in Sri Lanka. The host family is super nice, friendly, and caring. We were taken care of like their own family. Everyday breakfast was hearty and fulfilling. They offered us evening tea also without extra cost. The room and bathroom were spot clean. There is plenty of natural light. And spacious room. This was a much needed perfect getaway for us, away from all the hustle and bustle, peaceful relaxing area. It takes 20 minutes' walk to the nearest town area. You can find everything and anything you want. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
