We had a really great stay at Lawrence Villa and would absolutely recommend it. The place has everything you need for a comfortable and practical stay. The location is perfect — close to the beach and great surf spots, nice restaurants nearby, and walking distance to the center, but still away from the super touristy and busy areas. The garden is lovely and peaceful, with lots of birds and even chipmunks around, which makes it really relaxing. It’s very quiet to sleep, the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were spacious with good hot water (always appreciated). There’s a nearby Buddhist temple and you can hear it at night during celebrations, but honestly it just adds to the atmosphere. The owner was very responsive, especially since we booked last minute, and made sure everything was ready for us. We were also working remotely part of the time and the setup was great — comfortable chairs, a desk on the balcony, and fast, reliable wifi. Breakfast was included and was always delicious — authentic Sri Lankan food and different every morning, which we loved. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and let us store our backpacks both before check-in and after check-out. You can also buy water directly at the villa, which is really convenient. Even though there are a few rooms, it still feels very private and you don’t hear other guests. The amenities like the fridge and kettle were great for enjoying the balcony and terrace in the mornings and evenings. Highly recommended for a comfortable and lovely stay in Weligama.

We absolutely loved our stay. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Every morning we had a different Sri Lankan breakfast, which was delicious. They can also cook lunch/dinner upon request. The room was spacious and clean, with cleaning every 3 days. The whole place feels like a small jungle – squirrels, mongooses, lizards, and even one morning a family of monkeys “visited” us and woke us up with their noise. Geckos are everywhere, but they are harmless and cute. They arranged a yoga session for us in the garden, and also organised our Yala safari tour. The location is great – 5 minutes walk to Weligama beach, with plenty of cafés and restaurants around. We stayed 7+1 nights with a 3-year-old and felt very welcome. At check-out we even had an emotional goodbye and they gave a little present to our child. True Sri Lankan hospitality 💛

Great place, great people!

The most beautiful room we had during our "on a budget" srilankan trip. Beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was just amazing, really clean and spacious. Also breakfast was really goos, we had an english breakfast and the lady was really kind to provide us everything we need

We stayed two days at the villa, and it was a really good experience. The room was very spacious and, most importantly, very clean. The owner was very helpful, and the lady who served us was kind and lovely. Breakfast was tasty, and there’s a kitchen area where you can cook if needed — they provide all the appliances. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and town. The service was very nice and welcoming, and the place felt completely safe for girls. Highly recommended!

“Fantastic stay in Weligama”

What a lovely stay at Lawrence Villa! The rooms were very generous in size and loved the added little kitchenette. Very comfortable beds and good breakfast. Accommodation is very well located in a quiet spot but not too far from lots of good eating and surf schools. The host Lawrence has lots of good tips about things to do locally. All in all, a fantastic stay!

The room is very clean.I think it's the most important thing.

The villa is set in beautiful gardens in a quiet part of Weligama whilst also being close enough to walk into town in around 15 minutes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The best thing however is the people. The owner and his staff are so friendly and helpful. We particularly loved the lady who cooked our breakfast and looked after the place. Her lovely smile and cooking was such a nice welcome to Sri Lanka. The owner is responsive and has lots of good suggestions for things to do.

A visit to this facility is pure pleasure and I sincerely recommend it to everyone. The service was exemplary - Mr. Lawrence was very nice and helpful and the lady who served us breakfast was lovely. Breakfasts from local cuisine are very tasty, fresh and on time. The room is clean and well-kept, and the owner makes sure that nothing is missing.

The beds were comfortable and the gardens are nice enough. There was a little kitchenette area, but we didn’t use it so can’t comment on whether everything worked or if it was well stocked.
