Our favorite accomodation on our whole trip! The hosts are truely amazing, so friendly and attentive. There is a laundry service and tuk tuk available. Our favorite part was the breakfast by the river. The room is very comfortable with a big bed, AC and a nice and clean bathroom.

“Fake hospitality with pressure to pay extra at the end”

The accommodation for 2 nights was overall okay. The room was clean, but very small, as was the bathroom, which felt quite cramped for a comfortable stay. The food (breakfast and dinner) was ok.

Cleanliness and hospitality

Very friendly hosts, the best pancakes we had during our trip for breakfast. Location is great, green scenery, near the river. Hot water in the room, AC, fridge, everything we needed was provided.

“Beautiful, quiet homestay :)”

The family were SO lovely! They showed us around their garden, and they made us breakfast by the river with fresh ingredients from it. Our room was nice, we had our own bathroom and it’s very quiet at night. They have a tuk tuk so you can book them to drive you places, or we usually walked as Weligama beach is 15-20 minutes walk down a lovely jungle road over train tracks! Couldn’t recommend here enough :)

The host family are amazing and super welcoming. Breakfast is next to the river, which is amazing. When walking down the pathway to town at night there are fireflies everywhere, it’s so beautiful! The best place we stayed at on our trip!

This hotel with its lovely hosts are our unique experience of touching life of great family and feeling their the most valuable guests in the middle of the jungles. I'm really grateful for the care and comfort we were surrounded from the very first minute of staying in this hotel, delicious and various national breakfasts every morning, very nice and really generous surprises and quick help in any questions we had during our visit of Sri-Lanka. Best attitude to the guests ever! My honest recommendations!

The family is incredibly kind and helpful. On fullmoon day they took us to three local temples and explained everything to us. This was a great experience. On our first evening, they offered us a special sri lankan Rice and Curry Dinner, which was also really nice. The food is delicious. Good value for money.

It was my third time in this accommodation and I’m always so happy to come back. The place will make you feel home away from home and the family it’s so nice and welcoming that you will feel like they become your family too. I definitely recommend to go places with the family because it’s going to give you really nice insight to the Srilankan culture. The accommodation itself it’s really clean and the bed is so comfortable. Location it’s perfect for surfers and lovers of nature and quiet environment. It’s situated by the river, so be ready for really nice views of riverside. Only disadvantage is the humidity which attracts flyes and mosquitoes. There is mosquitoes net in the room so you’re fine. Breakfast and dinner are made to your wishes, I preferred no spicy food and they always made it so delicious.

The location was perfect for us, we enjoyed the tranquility of the river and surrounding nature while being only a short walk away from the beach and surf spots. We also enjoyed the food very much, a different kind of breakfast every morning (sometimes sweet, sometimes savoury, always a surprise) and beautiful plates with rice, curry including multiple different components in the evening. The best part though was the sweet family that made us feel very welcome.

This place is truly a home away from home. The host family welcomed us warmly and from the first moment did everything to make us feel comfortable and to take care of us. The room is very cozy and clean and we enjoyed our time on the family property, hanging out at the riverside or on the rooftop terrace. The location is super calm while only a short walk away from the beach.

Kosi Giggles Resort has been my favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. Rashmi and her family were so lovely and took amazing care of me. I really felt like part of the family. The local breakfasts and dinners (they have a newly opened restaurant) were delicious. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The location is also a gem, with the river at the backyard. I hope to be back!

What a great beginning of our trip! We’re glad we’ve found this place and experienced the hospitality and warmth of the family running the place. It’s a perfect place if you want to stay in a quiet area a bit further away from the busy and noisy streets and parties but still in the walking distance to the beach and the Weligama center. The place is situated by the river and and surprisingly there was not a lot of mosquitoes! Every morning the delicious (and huuuge) breakfast was served by the river edge in the sweet morning light under the palm trees. We also took a cooking class here which was a very interesting and delicious experience 😋Totally recommend!
