Overview
This traditional hotel, dating from the end of the 19th century, offers modern accommodation and great cuisine in the heart of Weimar. The Hotel Alt-Weimar was the original home of Rudolf Steiner, who founded the philosophy of anthroposophy. The hotel boasts the Art Nouveau lead glass windows and panelled walls of the original building, creating a historic, cosy atmosphere. “Comfortable, quiet and near the center”
The location is pretty central, my room was no-frills (and I like that) and clean and the carpets and bathroom looked like they were refurbished recently. Automated check-in is easy.

Good location, close to the city center and museums, but not very close to the railway station if you’re traveling by train. Nice building, cozy and quiet room facing backwards as requested. The day I checked out they stored my luggage at their other more central hotel in Erbenhof.

we have been there 3 -4 times; we always stay at Alt-Weimar; excellent value for the price you pay. The rooms are not very big, but ok. Rooms are very clean, beds are good. Very close to city center.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and the hotel is an important historic building in that Rudolph Steiner once lived there. Excellent continental breakfast.

“Perfect. Definitely a do again.”
The neighborhood was quiet, clean and pleasant. Even though there was a main road nearby, there was very little noise. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable.
