the staff were lovely apart from the owner who was a rude creep and treated the staff horribly. you also couldnt swim at funny times of the day. it felt way too modern and not like heavenly africa.

Love love love! The entire place is just so beautiful and calm. There has been so much thought into the whole design. Food is amazing. Staff are great. Beds are comfy, room is great.

Loved the atmosphere and the pretty pool area. It was very tranquil. Excellent lady cleaned our room beautifully every day and Peter the Pool Guy was really smiley and pleasant.

“We were disappointed”

We chose this hotel because we had previously dined at the restaurant a few months ago and had been satisfied with the quality of the food. Unfortunately, during our stay, our experience was far less positive. For lunch, my partner ordered rice with prawns in coconut sauce. Ten to fifteen minutes after eating, she became ill and had to rush to the bathroom to vomit. This incident significantly affected our stay and clearly spoiled it. The service at the bar and restaurant that afternoon also lacked professionalism. No one came to check whether the meal was satisfactory, which surprised us given the level of service we expected. At check-out, we returned the key to the reception. The staff member on duty was particularly insistent about whether we had paid for our bar and breakfast charges. She asked the question three times and even used her walkie-talkie to ask her colleagues for confirmation, even though everything had indeed been paid. This situation made us feel very uncomfortable. On top of that, after all these checks, she did not even say goodbye to us, which surprised us even more. We had enjoyed our first visit to the restaurant a few months ago, but this hotel experience was disappointing on several levels. Unfortunately, this will be our last stay. We do not recommend the establishment, especially as there are other options in Watamu that are better located and offer a much warmer and more professional welcome.

A true gem! The hotel is peaceful and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive — they even prepared a takeaway breakfast for our safari, such a thoughtful gesture. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the beach and many great restaurants. I will keep wonderful memories of this stay, simply perfect! 🌴

Everything. We visited the restaurant a year ago and had a fabulous meal. The pool was beautiful, and the hotel and restaurant also, all set in beautiful gardens. We decided to return and stay this year, again in September. We chose the Junior Suite on half board, option. It was superb. Lovely room with terrace and resident cat. Beautiful features all around. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great food. Well stocked bar. etc, etc. And so peaceful. Manni is a great host, and very attentive. Breakfasts were also excellent, and the half board option is great value. Eunice the masseuse, and the new spa area, were also fantastic. Finally, the location was also superb. Away from the noise and people of Watamu town, but only by a tuk tuk ride. And Garoda beach is an easy walk. We will be back.
