“A real gem!”
Wassenberg was a real surprise! A great little town with castle and lovely gardens. The inn is a historic old traditional German inn full of character and charm. The room was light, bright and clean but kept old world charm. Supremely comfortable pillows! Good bathroom and hot shower. Hosts were very friendly and helpful (in spite of our poor German) we had a fabulous meal cooked by our host, it really was exceptional and the best we had in Germany! Homemade asparagus soup, wild boar goulash with traditional side dishes- delucious! Plenty of free parking in town so no car park is not an issue.

The location is super! Downtown, looks like it's from fairy tales. Nearby are Aldi, Rossmann and other stores. Bars and restaurants are also nearby. At the first floor of the hotel is a small, but cosy and authentic bar. I recommend to drink something there. Rooms are nice.

“Affordable lodging, gracious hosts”
The hosts of this historic hotel were warm and welcoming, accommodating my special requests for breakfast and a dinner which were prepared with care. My room was quite small but entirely serviceable, with a comfortable bed and fluffy comforter. The shower was hot and the room was clean.
