We loved the size of our room and it was very comfortable. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful along with a great breakfast.

Star rating: 3/5 Review: I stayed at Tempest in Wanaka. Check-in was smooth and payment on arrival was convenient. The property offers individual parking, which was very handy. The hosts were warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and well appointed with most amenities provided. Tea, water and cookies were available, and breakfast was included. Breakfast featured fresh croissants, homemade breads with marmalades, and granola with milk and yoghurt — all tasty and satisfying.

Spacious room with nice views and very comfortable bed. Chris and Lin are incredibly lovely and generous hosts.

Fantastic location, generous room, incredibly clean and tidy with everything you could possibly want. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating but also gave you your space and privacy. Room was huge, bed was comfortable, bathroom was generous and everything was incredibly clean and tidy. The property is a 5 minute walk from the lakefront but felt totally private and quiet, tucked away one street back from the main road (which itself is still pretty quiet).

It was very homely and the beds were very comfortable with lovely bed linen s d towels. It was spotlessly clean too! Breakfast was delicious, all home made and a real treat 😋

“Exceptional Stay at Tempest on Wanaka B&B”

Our stay at Tempest on Wanaka was truly delightful and everything was perfect. The location is fantastic, situated just a short walk from the beautiful Wanaka Lakefront, in the heart of this incredibly charming town. Tempest on Wanaka is a family-run B\&B, and the wonderful hosts, Chris and Lin, made our experience truly special. They are both genuinely lovely and exceptionally welcoming people. The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast, which was a special moment of the day. Everything is lovingly homemade by Lin, from the delicious jams to the granola—all of it was outstanding! Sharing conversation with both Chris and Jane during breakfast was wonderful. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully furnished, providing a very comfortable retreat, and the modern bathrooms have all necessary amenities. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea station for guests. The service goes above and beyond: on one morning, we had an early excursion, and Chris very kindly started breakfast earlier just for us. Highly Recommended! Thank you, Chris and Lin, for your incredible kindness and for making our Wanaka stay even more special.

The room was very comfortable with ensuite and great shower. The breakfast was also lovely. Lin makes her own muesli, bread and muffins which are delicious! Hot breakfast is also great…Chris made us feel very welcome with information on the area.

“Fantastic hosts in the heart of Wanaka”

Chris and Lin were excellent bed and breakfast hosts. We enjoyed having breakfast with them each morning. They provided plenty of food and were keen to offer eggs, croissants, or coffee on request (Chris is even a certified barista). They helped us with laundry during our stay and they quickly identified something that we left behind, which we were able to retrieve after we left. They are both talented and wise people that anyone can learn a great deal from. During the day, our hosts gave us space and always respected privacy. Location-wise, this is a very good spot. A walk into the heart of the town is very doable. If you want to stay somewhere in Wanaka where you can meet two locals and learn from them, this is the place for you.

I sadly couldn’t make it to stay with the group, however there was nothing but positive feedback. The guys were happy, said breakfast was awesome and it was a great space. Thank you!
