Overview
Located near the egde of Lake Wanaka, Mt Gold Glamping is set on a private farm. There are 2 private campsites with tents on offer, which are accessible by foot. Free private parking is available on site. Each tent has a BBQ, running water, hot shower and toilet. Towels and bed linen are provided. A shallow bay and beach are 900 metres from the property. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including horse riding, golfing and fishing and Puzzling World and the township of Wanaka is only located 14 km from Mt Gold Glamping. Queenstown Airport is 53 km away. The final access road is a dirt road which is rough and has a number of potholes - you will need to drive slowly, and we don't recommend travelling in vehicles that are particularly low to the ground!

“Overall lovely spot and enjoyable accomodation”
Dome was great and bed was comfortable. Provision of blankets and portable chargers was very handy. We could tell alot of work has gone into set up of the space. Beautiful location. Shower was lovely with good temperature and pressure. Fantails were very friendly.

“Stunning location, great experience ..... but could be made much better”
For our travels in New Zealand, we were so excited to book this glamping experience for two nights, and we came prepared and ready for our adventure (light packing for the stay, BBQ food and an SUV to handle the poor conditions of the access road) and fit enough for the climb up to the glamp, having climbed some significant mountains in recent years. However, and compared to other glamps throughout New Zealand, we were a bit underwhelmed .... and some love, investment and attention to detail are required to make this as successful as others. It was though a unique experience, and many funny and not so funny memories were created! The tent is beautifully positioned overlooking the bay / lake - and truly quiet and private. The beds were comfortable and we slept really well in general (albeit - a bit nervous in the windy conditions we experienced during our first night). The shower worked well for us, but the toilet less so (despite being well used to outdoor toilets).

Amazing experience! The glamping is very clean and has everything you need. It can be too cold in the evening, but there many blankets available. Great stay and I highly recommend it.

“Peaceful stunning location”
The glamping is in a stunning location. Sadly it was rainy and overcast while we were there so we couldn’t see the stars, but it was still very beautiful and peaceful. The location is quite isolated, so it’s very private, but has all the comforts you need and is a short drive from the centre of Wanaka.

“Not as advertised, needs repairs, not worth cost”
The glamping tent itself is beautiful to look at, the scenery is beautiful, they provide a great pdf guide for the property, that’s unfortunately it. Night was cold (in December / summer) - they need doonas for all beds not just the Queen bed. Overcast so zero stars, and really all of the marketing for this experience relies on sleeping under the stars yet of course there’s no refund for bad weather. Poor sleep because it’s daylight 5am-10pm (summer twilight) no way to darken it obviously, it’s designed for stargazing. None of tent lights turned on presumably because overcast (solar), I found torches in the drawer. The shower (gas hot water) didn’t start, had to get dressed, find phone, call them, they said just try it 10 more times, it eventually started. The lake is far and not accessible (we tried). So it was really an extremely overpriced tent with carpet and pretty blankets. With no lights, no stars, and a walk in the rain to the camping toilet.
