Room was spacious, squeaky clean, and the view was epic - castle and the castle park. I went here because someone wrote that this was their best stay their all trip and I can see why. It might have been a coincidence, but when I arrived, right from the moment the elevator door to the reception floor opened, it was like they were waiting for me, greeting me and moving towards the check-in desk and everyone was super courteous, definitely best staff I have seen in the past three weeks. Breakfasts were great too. I had to stay there one more night and wish I had more time here.

Pay a little extra for a room with a view of the castle. Very clean and quiet. Only a few minutes taxi from the JR. Taxi very clean and friendly. Amazing location

“Good but not 4*”
It’s a good location and the rooms are nice. I don’t think this hotel could possibly be a four star, so I was a little disappointed thinking that is what I had booked. But otherwise it’s a good place to stay and gaze out at the castle.

Great view of the castle from "castle view" rooms. Room was a little cramped with 2 people considering how far out of the big cities Wakayama is, but functional. The capsule bathroom was a decent size at least, including a bath long enough to stretch your legs out in. Buffet breakfast was quite good, there's an omelette chef, good quality fresh fruit, and a decent coffee machine, along with the regular spread you expect in a Japanese hotel buffet. Honestly though, the view of the castle is the best thing about it. Check in and check out is via electronic kiosks which support multiple languages. They also act as change machines if you happen to need coins for the laundry. Front counter staff were super helpful when we had questions about train station parking at Hashimoto for our trip to Koyasan (it's better just to drive the whole way if you can). There's a few restaurants on the lower floors of the building, as well as a Family Mart. Was convenient for us when the weather turned sour and we still had to get dinner yet. Price-wise, I thought it was very affordable, but after staying there I have a better understanding of why it's so cheap....

The hotel has a great location, in front of the castle with magnificent views. The room was wide, and very comfortable. I really enjoyed the delicious breackfast they provided. The staff is very kind, they helped me to book a taxi for the station as it started to rain.

“Fantasic!”
The room was huge and overlooked the castle and park. Really comfortable with everything you needed. Bus stop outside to the train station and everything was an easy walk. The park is a must even if only to see the mad carp clustering together wanting to be fed!
