“To stay again”

This is the second time we have stayed here, and will stay again when it is on the route we are taking. For us it is perfect.

The property was comfortable, clean and spacious for a family. The decor was tasteful and well thought out. It was a perfect place to stop for a restful night on our drive further south. The breakfast was homemade and delicious. We would stay again without question.

“An immaculately presented B&B with a beautiful interior and wonderful breakfast!”

This is a stunning B&B with excellent guest facilities and set in a quiet, rural location but not far at all from larger centres like Vichy. My room was very spacious, with a large, comfortable bed and beautiful ensuite bathroom and toilet. Everything was spotlessly clean. A really nice touch, which I've never seen in any other B&B room, was that the toilet was in a small separate room next to the ensuite bathroom, although both were directly ensuite/accessible from the bedroom itself and completely private/exclusive to the room. This meant the bathroom was very spacious and a couple staying could make use of both the toilet and shower simultaneously, whilst maintaining privacy. My hosts were very welcoming and I was kindly offered (and gladly accepted) a very enjoyable beer on my arrival. After a long day's ride on my motorbike, this was a perfect way to start my stay here. Breakfast was wonderful and I enjoyed local honey produced by the host's own beehives, with my various breads and pastries. The home baking included in my breakfast was a really nice addition and the quality of all the food and drinks was an extremely high standard, like the property itself.

“Paradise on earth”

Piece of paradise on earth. We stayed in the beautifully renovated family room. Bedroom with separate 'sitting area and bathroom'. We were the only guests that day. It was blissfully quiet. Myrtille will forever have a place in our hearts. My daughter and we instantly fell in love with the cat. We would love to come back here!!!

It was perfect accommodation with a lovely garden, especially good for our ten year old grandchild. Our hosts were very welcoming, we enjoyed dinner outside and a really good breakfast with home made crepes and jams.

Great location, comfortable bed, clean, tidy, with wonderful, friendly owners. Breakfast was amazing with homemade jams etc.

The location was ideal for us as it was just off the motorway, The breakfast was great with small pancakes and little cupcakes made just before breakfast. Our bedroom was very spacious, as was the bathroom, We had a wonderful evening meal with an apero with our hosts. You can a choice of having wine with the meal or not. €30 with the wine.

If I could rate this exquisite place 10 star, I would. Its a rare, rare find. The hosts are faultless. Kind, helpful (we took a picnic to eat in the grounds). They laid a table for a us by the potager (vegetable garden) and I felt my holiday truly begin. Chickens and cats roam the lovely gardens. The interior is very chic with Scandinavian touches yet highly French. Having scoured every hostellerie 5-6 hours drive from St Malo, I can safely assure you that Le Champ Bagnolet is a one in a million place to stay. La Menthe (family room in the eaves of this giant converted barn) has its own metal staircase to the grounds and a billiards table outside on the landing. Breakfast was a feast of homemade crepe, madeleines and jams, - absolutely divine. Its under 10 minutes from the motorway (no detour at all) but I would gladly drive out of my way to stay here again.
