For those that would like to enjoy a quiet, relaxing time in a fabulous location, I do strongly recommend De Kievit. The property is very accommodating and has all amenities that make your stay comfortable. The surroundings are amazing and the host couldn't be more amiable and courteous. Strategically located, the property provide convenient access to Amsterdam, Haarlem and some of the North Sea resort towns. We made the perfect choice for our one week Netherlands vacation!

“Quite, charming getaway in rural Holland”
De Kievit is a lovely two-storey residential villa in a quiet little village. The villa is part of a larger gated property with a main house and stables. There's plenty of space to walk around without leaving the grounds, with a few different places to enjoy the fresh air (and the bird song!). Inside, the house is set out in late-20th century style with plenty of rustic charm but no shortage of modern amenities. The dining room opens onto a terrace - perfect for cold summer evenings. The decent-sized kitchen means you have enough space to cook your own meals - if you fancy. It's also stocked with two kinds of coffee machines (and both filter coffee and pads), tea, sugar and homemade jam. The property is quiet and restful, and the beds (upstairs) are very comfortable. One bed is adjustable, hospital-style, perfect after a long day of walking, or for older people. Nice wide staircase. The owners live next door, so you have a sense of security yet are completely on your own. Even with a car, it's easy to drive in and out without disturbing the owners. The host met us to hand over the keys and showed us around. She was extremely friendly and very helpful, suggesting a couple of nice restaurants as well as a few dinner options. She also left us some fresh croissants. We settled in immediately - unfortunately we had to leave too soon!
