“We enjoyed our stay and how close it was to the pier. We'd stay here again & would recommend it”
On our way, we received a text, that the elevator(only one elevator at The Breakers) had broken down, no idea when or if it would be repaired & that we could cancel with a full refund. But since we were an hr away, we chose to show up & see what floor we were on & any updates. The repair person was on the way & sounded confident it could be fixed so we did a little drive around VA beach, returned & it was fixed. Our room was on the 2nd floor but it was on the end, which that section was like cut back into the building & we couldn't see the pier, which was pretty close. The staff was able to change our room, yay! The beds were queen sz and on the soft side, but they were high in my opinion. I'm 5'7" & my partner is 5'11" & we both had to hike our leg/hip up to get in the bed & literally roll ourselves to the place we wanted to be. So if you have children or an elderly person or on the shorter sz, you might want to bring a foldable step stool. There were 4 like half sz pillows, thank goodness I brought my own from home. There was the typical small fridge, which kept everything cold, even actually froze some things cause since there was no freezer section, we wanted everything to be cold, so we cranked it up. There's no breakfast served. Room service was great, making the beds, new towels, shampoo & lotion daily, except for the last full day. After they replaced a few towels, I had to call the desk cause they never made the beds, forgot the washcloths & a roll of toilet paper. If we can't find a similar place to stay next year, we have no problem staying here again. I give the desk persons an A+, cleanliness an A+ and location close to the pier an A+

It was very spacious, beds were comfortable, and I liked the location and balcony. It was just what we needed for a little getaway. The room also looked clean and neat when we arrived.They told us that the hotel was under new management so the kitchen wasn't available for breakfast and that was understandable. They set up a nice coffee machine for residents in the absence of breakfast which I thought was nice
