The position of the hotel was very good. We liked the terrasse with view of the mountains. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful with laundry and advice on transport.

“Beautiful grand old hotel with lovely staff.”
The hotel is rather grand in appearance, and inside it is also very grand-looking. Built in the late 1800's and very well appointed. The gentleman who checked us it was fantastic, and also doubled as the barman when we asked for a beer before it was really beer o'clock. There was a covered garage to park the motorcycles, and the surrounding gardens were very lovely. It was too cold and wet (late June!) to fully appreciate them. The town is busy and has many restaurants and shops. Primarily a skiing resort, the town seems to close quite early in the summer, and we found the restaurant we had selected had already closed when we got there (this is not mentioned as a reflection on the hotel, but as a guide for fellow travellers). The hotel was very comfortable.

“Great fo cyclists.”
Firstly, the bike room was excellent. It had numerous power points for charging our e-bikes. It was secure. The hotel was still ‘grand’, if a little faded. It still has charm. The bedroom was huge with shuttered windows which kept it cool in the 30 degree heat. The grounds and gardens were beautiful.
