Overview
Parador Villafranca del Bierzo is less than 1 km from the centre of Villafranca del Bierzo, south of the Ancares Mountains. The hotel features 2 seasonal swimming pools, a terrace and restaurant. The modern rooms at Parador de Villafranca feature stylish décor with parquet floors. They come with flat-screen satellite TV, a minibar and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Each one offers views of the garden, the terrace, the mountains or the town of Villafranca del Bierzo. The Villafranca’s restaurant serves traditional Spanish cuisine, specialising in local cured meats, cheeses and pastries, as well as rice with botillo, a Bierzo pork dish. Local quality wines are also on offer. The Villafranca has an outdoor and indoor pool, both open during summer months. Other hotel facilities include a bar and lounge. The Parador Villafranca del Bierzo is a 30-minute drive from the Galician border and from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Las Médulas. “Good for an overnight stay”
A comfortable hotel with free, sheltered parking (especially valuable if you’re on a motorcycle on a hot day). I wouldn’t really rate this as a four star hotel - three stars at best.

“Lovely overnight stay in this well positioned and well equipped parador.”
Conveniently located on edge of town. Ample on site parking. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Even had a pool! Staff helpful and friendly. Good restaurant on site

“Relaxing but pricey!”
It was in a good location for a short,luxury break in our camping trip. The hotel was very clean and well presented. The food was good, without being exceptional. In fact we had a very late lunch one day, which we made our only meal and it was fine. Breakfast choice was good too. We used the indoor swimming pool, which is small but served a purpose. The outdoor pool was closed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The small town has lots to see and is worth a stop.

This was a solid and reliable place with ample on site parking. We didn't get to have dinner or breakfast here but it looked to be very popular with other guests. It also has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool which we didn't use. It is wonderfully located and we really enjoyed our stay here and really enjoyed villafranca del bierzo. A lovely town to visit.

“A proper treat”
It’s literally a treat to stay in a parador like this; it’s quiet, calm and unhurried. The staff are friendly and professionally efficient and the bar is a lovely place simply to relax and collect your thoughts.

“Probably the best place to stay in Villafranca del Bierzo”
We were hiking the Camino de Santiago and wanted somewhere nice to stay in Villafranca del Bierzo, so we opted for the Parador hotel as it looked like the best option. Unfortunately this Parador was very dated and soul-less. The breakfast quality was good although the dining room was just a room with no atmosphere. The room & bathroom was clean & comfortable but nothing to shout about here.
