Overview
Situated right by Lårstaviken, Wiks Slott offers accommodation spread around the castle, which is dating back to the 15th century. The property consists of 3 hotel buildings spread around the castle, which today houses a conference centre. All rooms are equipped with a desk, seating area and a private bathroom with a shower. They have either views of the garden or Lårstaviken bay. The rooms are located in the buildings around the castle and not the castle itself. Facilities at Wiks Slott include a terrace, sauna and an organic restaurant. A buffet breakfast is available each morning at the property. Upon request, Wiks Slott can arrange a variety of group activities if booked in advance, such as chocolate, cheese or wine tastings, or guided castle tours and team building activities. A variety of conference rooms are also available to book. Uppsala is a 30-minute drive away, while Arlanda Airport is 52 km away.

“Disapointing”
The castle itself is beautiful and I have a connection to the castle as my grandparents met there. The only misleading thing, which after reading other reviews once back home was that you don’t actually get to stay in the castle. Nowhere on booking.com does it state that you don’t stay in the castle so it is misinforming potential customers and seems to marketed as a castle stay.

The food in the restaurant was ok,but it could have been if better quality and verity and I would have easily paid more for better food.The staff of the hotel was nice,the restaurant staff less.

Breakfast was buffet, with good choice of warm and cold food. Additional orders were possible, maybe due to few guests being in the hotel. Room was very spacious, possibly not all rooms are big as ours was. Recommended to do some walks along the lake shore, and in the woods.

“Wonderful Wiks Slott”
Very interesting location, close to uppsala for a day trip. Swimming in the lake was great. Dinning al fresco was nice, and they can move in doors during bad weather. The grounds are open to the public and will be used on a nice summer day.

Very nice castle and surroundings. Good choice for breakfast, tasty dinner. Lake to swim or fish. There is a nice forest trail to walk around. Castle was open for viewing.

Fantastic location and area. The castle is gorgeous and there are nice walks around in beautiful nature. We really appreciated the popular beach 50 m from our room on the sunny days. The dinner was nice, particularly to sit in the garden seating area. Not much choice for food but we liked all the dishes. The room was simple and small, but clean and fresh. We could see the lake a bit from the room. It was the hottest day of the year and the room kept surprisingly cool. The staff was very helpful. We really liked it and decided to stay another night even!
