We loved our stay. Jane and Gilbert took so much care of us, nothing was too much for them and the dogs were a delight (don't be put off by negative comments in previous reviews - we loved Ivanushka and Milo, they are very sweet and gentle!). We were picked up from the train station by Gilbert (a 3 min walk from the station) and Jane had prepared a light meal for us as our arrival time was so late in the evening (15EUR PP which we thought was very reasonable). This was tasty and a lovely way to unwind from the train (her scrambled eggs are the best!). There is also a take-away pizza offering circa 5-10mins walk away (cash only) which we visited twice and brought back to the garden two times. We had the use of our bedroom and a sitting room next door, so plenty of space. Breakfast is basic but worked for us, and you can walk to the two bakeries in Vic to top yourselves up if needed. We loved the decor of the house which gave it a magical atmosphere, and it was great to have access to a guest fridge and washing machine in the basement. The views from the property are magnificent, and the swimming pool was also very much appreciated as a place to cool off and enjoy the view from!

Beautiful place in a pretty village in a stunning location. I loved it. Breakfast was in a lovely room on a proper old fashioned dining table. The hosts were just lovely. Made me feel right at home. Even offered to do my washing for me! Parking very secure. Lovely pool. Access to fridge and a second kitchen.

Very beautiful mountain valley view, authentic old chateau with lots of character and history, swimming pool. Several hiking paths close by, Puy Mary and Plomb Du Cantal hiking routes start within a short driving distance. The host/owner is super friendly and hospitable! The negative reviews I have seen so far focused on the presence of dogs. There are indeed two very friendly and social doggos, so unless you have an allergy - they won't cause you or your family any trouble! Village shops/bar are within a short walking distance.
