Great location and depending on room type, seaviews. The weather was still too cold for beach visits and the clubs were all still closed, but I imagine as the season picks up the location will be even better. Having parking onsite was a great bonus too.

Exceptionally clean throughout. Lovely to stay in a traditional Italian property right on the sea front. Train station just 20 mins easy walk away so great for exploring Pisa and Florence.

Hotel building and facilities are excellent, room is clean and comfortable with kettle for tea and cafe, welcome bottle of natural water, rental bicycle service, fabulous breakfast.

On front facing the sea, beautiful grand entrance with gorgeous gardens front and back. ( huge pool Altho we were slightly out of season for it to be open ). Staff were all amazing ( Ileyna on front desk who upgraded us to seafront balcony room) Nicolas ( evening barman) who was so lovely and chatty every night . You could hire bikes and they had access to private beach in front of hotel

We've stayed at this hotel before and so we knew it was very good. This room was a standard double, but is still much better than most hotel superior rooms. We spend the days out of the hotel anyway, so size of the room doesn't really matter but it was decent. The bed was extremely comfortable. Shower was hot and had decent power. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty - cooked, cereals, pastries, cheese, cold meats, etc etc. Coffee there is excellent. it's always a treat to stay here.

Location and we were kindly upgraded to a full sea view. Loved Viareggio. The receptionist recommended and booked an amazing restaurant in a side street.

Check in was smooth, the room large,well appointed and comfortable. The hotel itself is architecturally stunning and beautifully decorated. Staff were friendly and the breakfast excellent. Room cleaning etc was very good.

This was my first stay at the Grand Hotel Royal and I really enjoyed it :-). Great location, a short walk to everything in town, comfy rooms, lovely staff and delicious food and drinks. I spent a lot of time by the pool and can highly recommend it – a very relaxing location and a good size for swimming lengths. And the food at the pool bar was very delicious and very generous portion sizes! The hotel bar in the evening was great as well. There was a pianist there one night playing outside which was very atmospheric and relaxing. I will return when I come back to Viareggio.

We were upgraded to sea view family room which was a nice surprise!. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice. Pool area is very noisy due to passing traffic. Bar service was very good with choice of food at sensible price. One disappointment was the alla carte menu, poor choice, and poor food quality.
