My wife and I would rate this Locanda (country home/inn) as one of the best BB we stayed in Italy. The owner, Marco, was very accomodating - delicious breakfast, beautiful garden and an overall relaxing atmosphere! We greatly appreciate his warmth & generosity . During our brief stay, he offered us a nightcap of limoncello & grappa. His attention to detail and welcoming nature made our stay truly exceptional! His country home is a true peaceful escape.

“Three sublime days in an authentic area”

Very pittoresque place to stay; old building with a lot of character, well renovated. Old cars, old furniture. Like a museum. Very nice owner, helpful. Also our dogs were very welcome. We were invited to eat pizza with family and friends, which was very special for us. Nice surroundings, hills, castle, hiking. Visited a traditional cheese factory nearby, nice to see the process of making and aging the cheeses. Tip: ask the owner for his home made balsamico . Yummie!!

“A warm, welcoming rural idyll in a beautiful corner of Italy”

Charming, considerate and welcoming hosts and a tastefully renovated farmhouse of great character in a beautiful, rural setting, utterly peaceful, yet close to the small town of Viano. This corner of Italy is not touristy, but is similar to Tuscany in many other ways. It felt like being a friend of the family and meant it more of a genuine experience of Italy, more so than being in a hotel. Driving into Modena takes about35 minutes and is well worth the visit, being less touristy than many other towns, but with much to see.

Amazing place to relax and unwind in the nature. Very peaceful and great location. The house is simply amazing with a great character. The breakfast is just one of a kind, very fresh with local products every day. Marco and his family make sure you feel like home and everything is well taken care of. People like him are rare these days. This place is highly recommended, we would definitely come back!

Everything about this place is perfect. Marco is an amazing host who makes you feel at home. His place is on top of the hill with a stunning view. Big and comfortable bad, also the shower is super nice and clean. The breakfast is great. And all is in a 15th century house well preserved.

The location is amazing. Located on the top of a little hill on the outskirts of Viano, the house is surrounded by beautiful nature. Often in the mornings you can see deer grazing on the front lawn. Marco is an amazing host. His kindness and hospitality will make your stay memorable. Highly recommend this place.

“Perfect weekend getaway with a human touch”

We had the same wonderful experience already highlighted by previous guests. The owners of the property were amazing. Marco greeted us with local wine and specialities tasting. He helped us with reservation and suggestions for an excellent dinner in local restaurant. On Sunday morning Marco took us to his friend Ivan, the local owner of the Parmigiano Reggiano production enterprise. He spent an hour of his precious time presenting us in detail the entire process of producing of this famous Italian cheese. What an enjoyable tour around the production facility it was! The breakfast at the property is superb and offers rich variety of fresh local products, warmfully served by Fracesca. The property location is great for one day trips to Torrechiara or Bologna (which we did both) as well to Modena and Reggio Emilia. If you fall in love with the property completely and do not want to breakaway, you can take scenic hiking around countryside hills or visit a nearby castle. In short, a perfect weekend getaway with a human touch.

What can I say about this place that has not yet been said? Staying in a rural area, in a 150 years old house restored with a lot of love and attention to details, beautiful scenery with the best hosts possible catering to all our needs and presenting us with a beautiful tasty breakfast every day. Thank you Marco and Francesca for your kind and warm hospitality that made our stay at your house a magical one. I hope we will have the opportunity to return.

Everything about this property was so thoughtful! Delicious breakfast and coffee, and unexpected aperativo/wine moments with the owner and other property guests with amazing local products. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very well equipped and modern. Would happily return!
