Hamar Guesthouse is very centrally located—just a couple of minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal, with good restaurants nearby and a great starting point for hikes and nature experiences including northern light. Check-in and check-out were easy. My room was spacious and very cozy, with a comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the guesthouse with my son, we had a special request for the room due to health issues, and the guesthouse met our request. The location is super, very central. The rooms are big, clean and really comfortable. Definitely staying there again when we visit again.

Very central and parking out front. We had a spacious room and bathroom with a good shower. Bed was comfortable and WiFi strong. Nice breakfast and staff were helpful and friendly.

Frendly Staff and helpfull

This guesthouse is on an island. We had what was described as ‘near gale force winds.’ I emailed the property to ask about whether the ferry would be running and whether it would be safe. They did not respond. We contacted the ferry who told us we should not leave our car behind because if it was too rough we would be returned to a different port. We decided against travelling to the island electing to be sure we had accommodation if the ferry did not run. We were not refunded our payment, nor did we even have it reduced based on any service cost savings the hotel enjoyed. I would advise thinking twice about booking a room on an island unless you are prepared to walk away from it depending on weather.
