“We had a fantastic stay!”

The breakfast, dinner, and wine were all amazing — especially the Spirals white wine, which we absolutely loved. We stayed with our children, and the hosts were incredibly thoughtful and welcoming — they even prepared and served the kids’ food first without us having to ask. The room was spacious and perfect for a family of four, and the pillows were so comfortable. A really relaxing and enjoyable experience all around.

Home made breakfast and dinner with local products: eggs, wine, olive oil, cakes, everything superior quality. peaceful location in a vineyard, with hundreds of years old olive trees. easy to discover the area, main attractions of Basilicata. In the vicinity of the charming city of Venosa where we could get a glimpse into authentic Italian way of living. Hosts are very kind and made our stay enjoyable.

Breakfast was very good and complete. Fresh local products. Convenient that the tenuta offers a restaurant in the evening. The wine tasting was a nice experience.

This is a truly special place - we felt valued and looked after from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. The property is quite remote and lovely and quiet with beautiful views across the vineyards. The food is exceptional and a real highlight - I can’t recommend Tenuta Lagala enough and would definitely return! We’re just sorry we couldn’t stay longer.

Lovely quite location we could explore from but also spend time at and use the pool, which was exceptional. Angelica’s cooking in the restaurant was like having a personal chef, really really good. Set in vine yard with lovely court yard for the rooms to add to it. Wine, pasta, oil all their own. We had a very restful time, but it was also easy to reach tourist sites like Matera. Local hill top villages to explore and were beautiful and very quiet. When can we go back?

Very very peaceful, incredible smells from the plants blooming (late may). Fantastic food, ambience great, hospitality supurb lots of love. Even cloudy its beautiful.

Tenuta Lagala is a working winery that also provides meals and accommodation. The rooms met expectations based on the website photos. They are fairly basic (eg two singles pushed together for a double) but comfortable and super quiet at night. We chose to have dinner the first night in the main dining room which doubles as a wine tasting room. Hosts Angelica and Arnoldo welcomed us to the table and it turned out we were only the second table booked for that evening. Despite this the service was fantastic, friendly and the dinner menu was great with offerings of a starter, primi, secondi and dolce. We ordered 3 courses and the flavour and presentation of the food was also excellent. We chose to accompany our meal with their in-house wines which added to the overall experience. In fact, we decided to eat there a second night so we could try the whole menu. Breakfast was also excellent. Cooked eggs, breads, olive oils, fruit, yoghurt, pastries, organic grape juice and good coffee were all available. It's more a la carte as you choose and Angelica brings the dishes out but certainly more than we could eat. Overall the food was high-quality and you could tell there was an experienced chef in the kitchen. We didn't get to try the pool but it looked inviting. Value for money, it's hard to beat.

It was our first stop arriving in Italy, with the intention to relax, enjoy good food, and drink wine by the pool, and it completely lived up to our expectations! The lovely hosts provided us with the best (sparkling) wines and homemade food. The room was small but comfortable, clean, quiet, and had a good shower. What we loved most was the amazing pool in a beautiful garden, with nice sun beds and a stunning view. We would recommend this place to anyone. The town of Venosa is charming and historic, offering delicious food. We recommend visiting Ganea; we had both lunch and the best pizza there.

Beautiful tenuta with acres of grapevines, olive trees, fruit trees. Chickens and goats for fresh eggs and milk/cheese. Rooms were comfortable and clean. WiFi worked well. Restaurant offered a nice variety for lunch and massive amounts of food for breakfast. It was not a buffet but we were offered a wide assortment of breakfast food. Including fresh eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh pastries with homemade marmalade, fresh coffee (not a pod) and our favorite was the breakfast wine! You had to be there to enjoy the fresh grape juice! Angelica was a gracious host and very accommodating.
