The property was in excellent location! Just a few minutes walk from all the main attractions. It was quiet even though it’s so close to everything. It was also very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. Alessandra and her staff could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary and we arrived to Prosecco snacks a celebration message and decorative towels. On the day we left I was given a beautiful Murano glass necklace to remind me of our visit.The breakfast was tasty and plentiful a great start to the day. Beautifully decorated and clean and being on the grand canal was wonderful location and amazing to look out onto while eating breakfast

My family and I liked everything about this hotel: 1. the friendly host - Alessandra was very welcoming and helpful! She advised where to go and what to see, helped us to organise our time in Venice that we could see as many things as possible. She helped booking tickets for Doge's Palace to save our time. I could go on and on to praise her friendly and welcoming nature! 2. the location of this hotel is amazing. It is very close to most major sightseeing places. 3. the hotel itself is very beautiful, clean, and charming. It has its unique atmosphere! Our beds were very comfortable too.

“An oasis in the middle of Venice”

I loved the over the top decor, the staff were all very kind and accommodating, the views and location couldn’t be beaten and the breakfast was generous and delicious. I’m only sorry I was just there for one night!

Alessandra is a very welcoming (and multilingual) hostess. Everything was well organised with instructions sent in advance etc. The property is ideally situated, near the Rialto and (important for opera goers, the Teatro Malibran). Everything was spotlessly clean. The tiny hotel is in a very quiet environment. I would recommend it.

Everything was excellent! The breakfast was very good, the rooms were very clean, and the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made our stay very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

“A gem in Venice!”

Breakfast was excellent! The breakfast room is small but charming, and it overlooks the Grand Canal and the private dock in front of the hotel. There was a great variety of food – sweet pastries and cakes, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, toast, cold cuts and cheeses, boiled eggs, juices and coffee (the cappuccino was excellent). It’s not a buffet – you fill out a form for the first day and also tell the breakfast “staff” (one lovely lady) what you want. You can change your preferences from day to day. The personal care and attention from the staff, in particular from Alessandra, was amazing. Her recommendations and information were much appreciated. We also did her walking tour (extra cost), which gave us some incredible insights and details into Venice’s history. Our room (for three people: one double bed and one single bed) was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but modern and clean. Even though the room was directly off of the reception, it was surprisingly quiet in the hotel itself. The only thing was there were strange noises from the floor above (not the hotel) which actually woke us up at strange hours on our first night. Despite that, I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The location was perfect for exploring the city. It is close to the Rialto bridge. We walked from the boat there (approx. ten minutes and with some stairs). It is also possible to get a private boat taxi to the private dock directly in front of the hotel, but we did not need to do that. All the main sights are walkable – or jump on a boat to go further afield.

“A true Venice experience through & through”

Scalon del Doge was such a unique stay with amazing hospitality, perfectly in theme with Venice — silk-adorned walls, ornate details, and old-world charm everywhere. Its location was super convenient too, just a short walk to the Rialto vaporetto stop with a dock right in front. And breakfast each morning came with a stunning Grand Canal view — truly a Venice experience through and through. It helps that Alessandra was a great host & extremely helpful as well!

A place with soul. Scalone del Doge is a wonderful, truly remarkable place. From the very moment you step inside, you feel warmly welcomed as a guest. It’s intimate and cozy, with breakfast served overlooking the Grand Canal. The décor throughout the property is stunning and perfectly captures the spirit of magical Venice. Alekssandra is an exceptionally kind person. She recommended several charming, lesser-known spots away from the tourist crowds. Thanks to her suggestions, our stay was even more wonderful than we had imagined.
