Important to know before booking: Late check-in is charged an additional €50 (cash only), and this information is not clearly stated on Booking.com. It is communicated only after payment is accepted, which feels misleading. At first, our host was friendly and responsive via WhatsApp. However, her attitude changed when I informed her that we would arrive around 22:30. She began sending multiple messages urging us to hurry. Unfortunately, due to travel time from Treviso Airport to the Castello district, we arrived at 22:55 (25 minutes later than planned). Upon arrival, she repeatedly said: “You are late.” I apologized, as the journey took longer than expected. She then added that she would now have to take a taxi and that would need to pay €50, emphasizing that she had been “waiting for nothing.” We then walked to the apartment. The host did not greet my mother or daughters, was impolite, and clearly showed a negative attitude. Overall, this was one of the worst hosting experiences I have had. Regarding check-out and trash policy: If you check out on Sundays, you will be asked to: * take out all trash * not leave anything in the apartment * wash all dishes While I respect house rules, there is a serious issue: there are no proper trash containers nearby. The only option is public bins, but it is actually forbidden to dispose of private household waste there, and you risk a fine. A local Venetian confirmed that many hosts ask guests to take out trash on Sundays because there is no collection service, effectively shifting responsibility to guests. 👉 Important: managing trash in this situation should not be the guest’s responsibility. Apartment itself: The location in the Castello district is very nice—quiet, peaceful, and away from crowds.
The apartment is old-style but generally pleasant. However: * pillows are very hard and uncomfortable * hot water takes around 10 minutes to start running Overall:

“Fantastic apartment”

Spacious, very clean accommodation, very close to shops, restaurants, and boats. Very accommodating staff. We have travelled to many cities in Europe, renting various apartments, but this is the best.

The apartment is big, clean and exactly like in the photos. Everything was explained very well and the apartment had everything we needed.

“Felt like you we’re living in Venice!”

Situated in a quiet part of Venice, but within a relatively short walk to a great supermarket and a lively street with restaurants , bars and more shops. Even a vegetable stall on a canal! There is also a park close by and easy to walk to the main tourist areas. The property was comfortable had everything we needed to cook some of our meals. Even a spare umbrella to borrow which was useful!

We have been in the apartment for the second time. We love the location, the people of the apartment are super friendly, clean and you have everything what you need. Easy and uncomplicated checkin/checkout.

Very nice apartment close to St Mark’s square with everything you need for a nice stay.A special thanks to the lady who give us the keys,she was very kind and helpful.

Everything was fine. Easy check in, easy, check out. The owners were friendly and sympatic. It was very clean and if you like to cook there are basics like salt, pepper, etc... We loved the area, which was quiet and not a lot of tourists.

“Great base for our family break in Venice!”

Great host who was able to accommodate are later arrival. Great facilities and space for our family of 5 (X2 adults & X3 kids). WiFi good. Location quiet but easy walk to main sites along Via Garibaldi and ACTV waterbus stop close by at the other side of San Pietro island. Would definitely stay here again.
