Excellent location, next to the old town. Spacious rooms with funky decoration. Quiet location. Good breakfast. Friendly hosts.

The apartment was a very good size for the price and well fitted out. It was conveniently located for the old town centre and car parking. The host was very helpful and responded very quickly to all requests.

Excellent hidden gem in the middle of it all. Restaurants and shops galore, all at walking distance. Very large room (=mini-suite) for a very moderate price.

The staff is lovely, the rooms are palatial, and the hotel overlooks an old magical ash tree, as well as a lovely bar. Vence is the most wonderful place, and this is the best place within it to stay!

We cannot speak highly enough of La Maison du Frêne - it is truly one of the most beautiful and memorable places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the elegance, character and warmth of this extraordinary home. The interiors are a stunning blend of classic French charm and artistic flair, with our La Chapelle room thoughtfully curated and full of personality. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, with lovely touches that made us feel both pampered and at home. We loved the santons de provence that decorated our room. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Vence, just steps from the historic centre, yet peaceful and serene. Breakfasts were a delight, served with care and featuring fresh, local ingredients. We really enjoyed chatting to our hosts. What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. The hosts are gracious, welcoming, and full of wonderful recommendations that helped us make the most of our time in the region. It's definitely worth visiting La Chapelle designed by Matisse. If you're looking for a place that combines style, comfort and genuine Provençal charm, La Maison du Frêne is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return!

Everything was excellent! Fantastic boutique hotel in the heart of Vence. Great staff and superb breakfast in French style.

Good position within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The property is wonderfully full of art works and objects collected by the owners. Our suite was large, we loved the bedroom / sitting room and separate large bathroom with a great shower. We appreciated the water left in the fridge. The decoration was gorgeous….. a great place to stay. The breakfast was good and the owners were friendly and helpful…..

“A jewel of a hotel in the heart of the picturesque town of Vence.”

It was a real treat to spend two weeks at La Maison du Frêne, a jewel of a hotel situated in the heart of the picturesque town of Vence, with its maze of medieval streets and numerous cafés and restaurants. Our light and airy suite was spacious, extremely comfortable and furnished with panache. What makes this hotel so memorable, however, is the level of care and attention given to guests. Each morning as our delicious breakfast was served our hosts went out of their way to help us plan our programme for the day, enthusiastically suggesting places to visit and providing helpful maps and leaflets. They showed a genuine interest in hearing where guests had been and how they had enjoyed themselves. The patrons listened with patience and encouragement to our faltering French and were happy to to continue the conversation in English when we became tongue-tied. They ordered taxis for us and were thoughtful enough to provide us with a bottle of wine to share with visiting family, as well as a parting gift as a souvenir of our stay. A truly original, delightful, relaxing family-run hotel. Simply a must for anyone wishing to stay in the area.
