“Old-time mountain lodge that takes you back in time”
I was looking for a ski lodge (in the summer) with a 70s/80s vibe, and I got it. Reviewers had complained that the place sorely needed an update, but the vintage interiors (not so much deliberately 'vintage' as coincidentally the same sofas, carpets and curtains they've had for decades, or so it seemed) were part of the charm for me and exactly why I booked this place. It was like traveling back in time. At the same time, everything was clean and in perfect working condition. The lobby was large and very lively and the breakfast offerings were extensive. I was delighted to catch a glimpse of the two grey estate cats scampering across the parking lot and into the trees. The cats were also part of the reason I chose Venabu, although they are not allowed into the building itself.

“Lovely place in the mountains”
A very comfortable hotel in the old style, with tea and coffee always available in the communal sitting area. Excellent food in the restaurant. Super breakfast.

The restaurant, 3 course dinner and the breakfast was very good. Easy to access from the road and interior was very cozy. Very nice stay.

“Great place to stay, also in the summer”
Nice located, good accommodation and base to start hiking daytrips in the area. Excellent breakfast, good food overall. Very friendly staff (special thanks to Thomas who was able to arrange dinner for us including a vegetarian option even on late notice)
