We loved the room and the staff! Everything exceeded expectations, from the cleansiness to the wonderful breakfast. The host was attentive and gave us recommendations on where to visit. Very caring and friendly family. Highly recommend. Hope to be back soon!

Had a very pleasant stay at the Apartments Alavana. Great, friendly and helpful hosts, sharing insights and recommendations, making sure we have a good experience! During our stay we had enough time to discuss with Martin over a hand of figs, a piece of cake or a sip of home-made drinks he offered us about various topics, helping us better understand the people and the country and to select routes for couple of gravel rides!

Very nice and spacious apartments, additional parking/yard is very nice for kids to run around without worrying about passing cars. Excelent location, relatively close to the beach easily accessible by walking.

We came back to Alavana apartments after 5 years and we were very happy about it. The apartment is huge and convienient with walking distance to the shops/ restaurant, not very far from the beach, in quiet part of Velipolje. The hosts are very kind, helpful couple, always trying to fulfill your needs ! We felt like at home! Higly recommended! Hope to come back soon!

The hotel is small but decent, though even the locals had trouble finding it. It’s 800 meters from the beach, although it's listed as 500 meters, but you have to walk over rocks, dirt, and various debris (a problem if you're wearing flip-flops). It’s worth noting that it’s 800 meters to the worst beach in Velipoje. It takes about 25-30 minutes to walk to the center of Velipoje. There are rooms with balconies and without; we had a room without a balcony, with just a small window with a screen, so drying clothes was an issue. No shampoo, one toilet paper roll for the whole week, no towel changes, etc. Most of the time, it was impossible to find the owner or his wife (we had to buy our own toilet paper). Next door is a courtyard with a terrace and a "buffet" where, again, no one was there most of the time to serve. What shocked us the most was the owner's behavior. Upon arrival, he was very friendly, invited us for coffee, offered us raki, etc. His English was poor (but so was ours), but we understood each other, and everything seemed fine. Upon arrival at the hotel, we found out that Booking.com hadn’t charged us, but we thought we could pay by card. It wasn't possible. We suggested we find an ATM and bring him the money. His response was, “easy, easy, you have time.” So we figured we’d get the money the next day and bring it to him. We didn’t see him the next day, so it wasn’t until the third day in the morning that we met on the terrace, where I told him we had the money and could pay. He was accommodating again, saying we had time and it was fine, etc. In the same conversation, I mentioned that after 5 days (4 nights), we would probably change locations, and asked if we could agree on a price. His response was “no problem.” About an hour later, his wife knocked on our room door, asking if we could come and pay. Of course, we went, and she showed us the original amount.

Place was tidy. Everything was good. It’s close to sea, I would recommend this place. Owner was really caring and friendly.
