“Excellent for families with kids who look for a peaceful location off the beaten track”

We visited as two families (3 adults and 3 kids 8-10 y.o.). We were looking for a location away from tourist-popular spots but close to a beach and good restaurants, and this house perfectly matched our expectations. The house is about 5 min away on foot from the local marina, and another 5 min from the beach. The house is modern and very well equipped (as per description on booking.com), and was very clean on arrival. The host also left us beer and some local liqueurs which were really tasty! Air conditioning (an absolute must-have in July with temperatures well above 30 deg) was sufficient to cool down all rooms to a pleasant 24-25 degrees. There is plenty of kitchenware, glasses, etc., so it was easy to prepare a meal for a large family if you want to. There is a porch in front of the house (good for early breakfast before it gets too hot) and a terrace on the 1st floor which gives a very nice view of the night sky (we never used it during the day as it was too hot there before the sunset). Mirko and his wife Sandra were excellent hosts, they went above and beyond looking after us and making sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. They also invited us to a BBQ one evening with local fish, chicken, home made wine etc., which we all really enjoyed. Regarding the surroundings, the house is a bit away from the centre of Veli Iz; this turned out to be a blessing as local bars would play loud music every evening exept Monday and Tuesday until 1.30am, and our friends who stayed close to the marina complained about the noise. The village has very good restaurants (pizzeria, Keko, Luzarija) which we ate at a few times. There are also a few shops where one can buy food, beverages, floaties and other beach stuff. There is a passenger-only ferry to the mainland every few hour, and a larger one from Brsanj (a few km away) twice a day. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay and I would really recommend booking Mirko's house!

“Fabulous Holiday Home”

Spacious, well laid out, and very comfortable accommodation. It was a pleasure to cook in the well equipped kitchen. Shops and restaurants only a few minutes walk away. The owner, Mirko, was available instantly via WhatsApp for any kind of questions about the house, ferries, or Iž. Modern well designed bathrooms, very clean, big living space, air conditioning, very big terrese, surrounded by own garden, fresh herbs, and vegetables for cooking. Good home entertainment set up. Quite area. The owner helped us organise a private boat trip to Kornati National Park. Very welcoming local community. Highly recommended, brand new house.
