“Excellent”
Everything was spotless and beautifully maintained. The décor was charming and authentically reflective of Vejer. The owners, who personally take care of their guests, were incredibly welcoming and always went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay at the hostal.

Good location and good cleaning service. Nice basic accommodation. Friendly and helpful check-in staff/owners although never met them - only over the phone.

The room was small, but more than adequate and quite charming. I don't remember requesting a quiet room, but the room certainly was not quiet. One could hear all the traffic noises and group conversations happening on the street just below me. The walls are very thin and you can hear people moving about in the adjacent rooms and sound of locks opening and closing . None of this bothered me though. The only thing that I would have preferred was to have had a concierge on site. The owners were not on property the majority of the time and it was necessary to contact them by WhatsApp. Also, the online communication gave the impression that the proprietors spoke English, which later in-person it was very clear that they did not. Again, that's fine, but it ought to have been communicated prior to arriving that my hosts did not actually speak English. I would have been better prepared , through research, to have asked questions in Spanish. Overall, the stay was very nice. The breakfast in the hostal restaurant was absolutely perfect and was exactly what I expected it to be. I would definitely recommend Hostal Batato to friends, but I would definitely inform them of the issues I have outlined above, so that they might prepare accordingly.
