“Happy stay in San Mateo”

We had a very warm welcome from Victoria. Such a lovely property, thoughtfully furnished and very clean. We loved the quiet location, tucked away by the church but so close to the busy main street with all facilities. Very good value. We were usually lucky parking just opposite but used the town's underground carpark for 3 nights - absolutely free. We had some wonderful walks, from the door and aided by local buses. San Mateo was great - not touristy! Pallmito restaurant was very good.

position was excellent, being near shops and bus station. Felt I was in a traditional Spanish home, which was lovely to experience. Host was very welcoming and helpful. San Mateo is a lovely little town and this accommodation is right at it's heart. There is a regular bus service down to Las Palmas and up to Tejeda making it ideal for exploring.

The house is very well equipped and the owner is absolutely wonderful and available for any questions or needs that might come up. The town is cute and mainly a great location the mountains in the center of the island.

Well maintained and equipped family managed apartment. Genuinely nice hosts who provided plenty of fruit, marzipan sweet and water on arrival. Good location to start exploring the island.

Really nice apartment in the very centre of Vega de San Mateo. Everything was very clean, spatious and well equipped. Fruits, coffee, and almond cake were really nice welcome gifts from the host, who was super nice and friendly. The apartment is a great value for money!

We loved the apartment. It's very comfortable and is located in the heart of the old town, very near to shops, restaurants/cafés, the tourist office and the bus station. Encarna was very sweet and had bought us lots of special treats which were much appreciated after a long journey!

Perfect location in the city centre; everything was really clean; you have a whole flat with sleeping room, bathroom, living room and (perfectly equipped) kitchen for yourself; the host was so nice, she even left a bowl of fruit, some coffee and a typical snack of the city for us. Thank you!

The stay was exceptional. Gorgeous apartment. Very kind host - left us delicious cake and coffee and let us check in early. Much appreciated. Well equipped kitchen area with all you need to create a simple meal - important as local restaurants generally shut by 6 pm!

“Excellent stay in lovely old house with excellent host”

It is an old house in city center with its own spirit. The apartment is cozy and spacious. There are heaters available in case it gets cold (which it can during rain in the mountains). Host was very nice, attentive. She speeks little to no English, but this caused no issues (we managed to communicate just fine, in person as well as on Whatsapp, us speaking no Spanish at all :-) ). Not many tourists around.

A hidden gem! We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Encarna. The appartement is super cute and cosy, and is super well equipped to make your stay as comfortable as it could possibly be. On top of that, we had a very warm welcome from the host and were surprised with a nice coffee and local cake! We’d recommend anyone who’s visiting the mountainous centre of Gran Canaria to spend one or more nights here, it’s definitely worth the trip.

Perfecto! In order to vote 10 out of 10 points things need to be incredibly great. And this actually happened at Casa Rural. Well, it always is a question of the individual perspective. Different people, different expectations and demands. In our case, our expectations were exceeded. Communication with Encarna: superb at all times. Welcoming by Encarna: it doesn't get better. She even literally run down the streets in order to welcome us and navigate us with our car through the wrinkled little roads. Above that, fresh fruits, water bottles and a traditional pastry were awaiting us. Accommodation: superb! An old traditional house, beautifully renovated and equipped with more than you need. Location: romantic. Peaceful. Situated in the center of the old town, right next to the cute little church. To make it short, if you wanna get out of all the hustle and bustle and want to be welcomed by a super attentive host, come here!
