“Old World Charm in the Center of Varese”

I picked Albergo Bologna because of its central location. The staff here was extremely helpful and flexible. Old world ambiance was charming, reminding me of my good ole' days in Italy. The restaurant attached was terrific for both breakfast and lunch, and icing on the cake.

I thought it was lovely, traditional spacious, very clean with an.excellent restaurant attached. Very good sized room with a large bathroom.

So glad I stayed here. Such a lovely old ambience in the reception area and restaurant. All the staff warm and welcoming. Able to check in early much appreciated. Room very tasteful colours and older decor. Very clean. Very comfortable. Small balcony. Good light outlook over a street but even with buses seemed very quiet. Slept very well. Airconditioning quiet and effective. Location excellent. In central area. The restaurant clearly very popular. Saturday night full with great vibe. No noise in room. Bus stop to Sacro Monte. Just round the corner. Less than 15 min easy walk to train. Breakfast included. Good to see fresh fruit salad and selection of nuts and seeds for plant based diet. Very highly recommend

It is difficult to fairly evaluate this hotel. We paid in advance, and the full amount for the room was charged. Due to severe weather conditions, we arrived at the hotel around 2:45 a.m. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone, and despite knocking on the hotel door for quite some time, there was no response. We did not receive any notification that our reservation had been canceled or that late check-in was not possible. As a result, we had to spend the night in our car in the hotel parking lot. Later, when I requested at least a partial refund—considering that we did not use the room or breakfast—I was told this was not possible because we arrived later than the hotel’s check-in policy allowed. This was a very disappointing experience. If you expect to arrive late, I strongly recommend confirming late check-in in advance or choosing another place to stay.

Lovely accomodation, perfect location in the centre, very clean and nice room, very good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, we enjoyed the warm, family atmosphere. If visiting next time, definately book again.

The room was comfortable and above a fabulous restaurant in the middle of an unexpectedly beautiful little town. We had a great breakfast. All the staff were great. Could have spent longer exploring the town.

Great hotel and restaurant. Comfortable room with a very good air con, WiFi, nice little balcony. And I had all my dinners in their restaurant. A lot of choice, excellent service, very good home wine. The staff was really exceptional. The location is right in the center with a lot of places of interest nearby. I greatly enjoyed my stay and will be happy to come back! Grazie mille a tutti!

Very nice room with balcony overlooking the street. Excellent breakfast--I especially liked the crusty, artisan bread and the boil-yourself eggs.
