Very friendly, empathic and helpful hotel team. I felt like it was a family stay. I thought I lost my cell phone as I dropped it behind the bed....however it happened. Thank you so much for all your assistance and empathy in that situation as well as for the booking of the taxi. You are really taking care of your guests what I appreciate! What I loved the most about this place is that it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel at all — it truly feels like home. The owner and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they made me feel comfortable from the very first moment. The location is perfect, the room was very clean, and everything was just spot on. They also helped organize a private boat ride at sunrise to see the cremation rituals on the Ganges — an unforgettable experience.

This hotel offers stay as at home, but you must be prepared that there is not much comfort and to get to the hotel you need to meander through the alleys full of shit and flies, but this is how the life runs there. The location is excellent, 5 min on foot to Assi Ghat where the morning and evening Aartis are performed. You can walk from there through all the ghats and observe the life near Ganga river. The breakfast served is very good, in local style, and menu changes every day. But what makes this hostel special are the people working there, very helpful and with open hearts. We took several excursions through them and all of them were excellent.

“The perfect stay”

My friends and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend, we were a group of 8, and the owners could not have been more welcoming and cooperative. We were greeted with a large breakfast on the terrace, all cooked by the lovely couple who owns the hotel, offering both traditional Varanasi breakfast and European cuisine (we loved our banana pancakes !!). We had booked two full apartments, each apartment had a terrace, bathrooms and dining table with seats. The rooms were spotless, much higher quality then we expected given the price and so many amenities too, the AC worked great, we were given towels, soap, tea and kettle . The bathrooms were clean too. The location is great, simply five minutes walk from Assie Ghat, a lively area with restaurants, shops and of course the Ganges, but far enough to be completely calm, we never heard any road or restaurant noise. Also good to note most guides are situated in this area and this facilitated our walking tours. They also arranged for us our taxis back to the station and gave us many food and sightseeing recommendation. Their rooftop is a great place to hang out in during the day or evening with pizza and some playing cards too ! We could not be more happy with our stay, we were overall impressed with the facilities and the staff kindness. Thank you again ! We hope to be back.

People are so welcoming, treating you like you’re a member of the family. Always available, respectful and kind. Also they really truly love their city and they will help you fall in love with it !

Gully ghar- literally a home away from home in the iconic gullies of Varanasi! Saurabh and his wife are so welcoming and made me feel at home. They suggested places to visit, food to eat and we spoke everyday over breakfast about the joys of travelling, solo travellers, work from home, kids and their tantrums to go to school, how opposites attract, marriage, independence, women empowerment and mainly Varanasi.! They serve and cook breakfast in their kitchen by themselves adding the personal touch, stuff you with lot of food and love so that you are content all day and can clock in 30k steps to explore the city! They also went out of the way and ordered gulab jamuns for me before my departure since I told them that i missed trying it out! Sweetest hosts ever. They also arranged for boar rides and other walking tours! The place is a guest house, decent rooms, clean bathroom, and at a good location. Although its on Assi ghat (one of the most popular and busiest places in Varanasi) yet its peaceful and quiet there.. definitely recommended!!! Feels Like A Home.....

Quite simply- everything!! As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed with open arms and a warmth you cannot put a price on. The hosts, Saurabh and Sweety were down to earth, authentic, kind and helpful, with an infectious love of life. It felt like home for the entire time we stayed and we felt included and part of the family, in a way that felt respectful, inclusive and spacious. They couldn’t do enough to help and to ensure we had the richest experience of Varanasi we could, which we absolutely did,thanks to their generosity. The facilities were great, the breakfast on the rooftop was awesome, welcomed every morning with gentle kindness and enough yummy breakfast food to fuel you for the incredible experience that is Varanasi. It is 5 minutes walk from Assi Ghat, and yet offers a quiet escape from the bustle of the city. The rooftop also offers a space for a moment of quiet calm above the wonderful Varanasi. The art work at the property is also vibrant and brilliant. I highly recommend the heritage tour of the city. Wiki- the guide, was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and it felt like the best way to get a good understanding of this incredible city. We were fortunate enough to stay for Holi, and they hosted a truly brilliant Holi celebration, which was just abundantly colourful and joy full! I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful home from home. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

Family was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s easy to meet other people at the guesthouse too. A highlight for me was the tour with Vicky. He was excellent, fun, knowledgable and showed me the secrets of Veranasi- beautiful human being.

Very welcoming, staff met me on the road, carried my luggage, and walked me through the alleys to the hotel, then served me ginger tea immediately! The rooftop breakfast was delicious and quite generous. It was super clean with a very comfy bed and all the amenities, hairdryer, electric kettle, TV, AC, fan, shampoo, etc! Sweetie and Saurabh are wonderful hosts and really know how to show hospitality! I have stayed in Varanasi many times and this was THE BEST by far!! They are very well organized and give you a very detailed written guide to the city. The location is perfect, very close to Assi Ghat, restaurants and shops. It’s beautifully decorated with lovely murals and the blue lights around the bed were very cool. I was on the 4 th floor and could not hear the street noise with the fan on. The staff are kind, respectful and very helpful. I was very impressed with all the little extras, they have thought of everything!! I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to my family/friends!! It’s a very happy place with a super warm vibe.
