“Idyllic, aristocratic and spacious stay in France”
An incredible, irresistable place. Upon arrival, it's very easy to imagine yourself an aristocrat. The space, the gardens, the view and the château itself are breathtaking. Henri, his wife Monique Gabrielle and their daughter Gabrielle are attentive, kind and funny people. Our room had the balcony (the view was just spectactular) and was very spacious. Make sure to take a guided tour from Henri to learn some of the history of this beautfiful château and chapel (with anecdotes about Pope Leo XIII, Napoléon, Queen Margot ánd Mussolini). The swimming pool deserves extra mentioning. Just the most idyllic place. Thank you, we will be back!

This is shouldn't be considered as a hotel, because we was filling like coming for the night to family. Hosting, homemade food, house itself, biblioteque - all is fantastic and with its unforgetable vibe.

“Would go back in a heartbeat.”
The location just off the motorway was perfect. The setting in the beautiful grounds, lovely trees, was peaceful. The people were friendly, welcoming and were delightful. The dinners were delicious. It was like stepping back in time, a beautiful stately home.

“Magical place to enjoy French history and relax in a fabulous natural decor with full comfort”
The Property, the park, the personnel and the history of the place were impressive. One feels at home at a grand property, without any concern of any kind. Very relaxing and charming. The guided tour was highly appreciated. The historical library and the impressive collection of books were a highlight of the property

“It was worthy to stay there”
Very nice and helpful couple who are the owners and runs this beautiful old palace. Nice and calm area surrounded the place. Spaced rooms. Good and nicely served breakfast.

Interesting architecturally but very run down. Is essentially totally untouched since the main wing was added in the mid 1850s.

“breathtaking place”
Beautiful castle in the Ain province. Great view from the room towards the river Ain down below. We had the room with the balcony. Great view from there to enjoy some wine together.

“All you need for the body and soul!”
Phenomenal place to stay! Beautiful chateau with amazing location + charming hosts - owners of the property since generations. Very comfortable rooms fully furnished with antiques. Excellent dinner served outdoor under giant cedars. Delicious, elegant breakfast served in beautiful dinning room. Large park with swimming pool. Absolutely unique - privat chapel detached to the main chateau building. Varambon - all you need for the body and soul!

“An excellent start to our holidays!”
Superb - the place itself, the location - in beautiful countryside, the room was grand - large and clean, the views from the window were beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. Met the owner who was very charming and made us feel welcome. A lovely place, a lovely experience. An abundance of parking. Found an excellent restaurant for dinner a short walk away, in the village itself.

Fantastic! Our room was lovely-huge Bath. Our view was the beautiful garden and huge pines. We loved the walk around the grounds. Our food was lovely. Very special people run this hotel. History explained. Exceptional.
