“Perfect place!”

This is a beautiful hotel in a very peaceful location by the reservoir. The bungalows are wonderful, and from the bed you can enjoy a stunning view of the lake. The rooms are very well designed, with a separate toilet and a very spacious bathroom. Everything works perfectly, the beds are comfortable, and we felt very relaxed during our stay. The entire property is extremely well maintained, and the staff are incredibly friendly and service-oriented. The food is also excellent – especially the breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. We had a truly wonderful stay and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for peace and relaxation while spending a few lovely days by the lake.

“A Unique Natural Oasis – Pure Relaxation, Beauty, and Comfort”

We immediately fell in love with this unique oasis surrounded by nature and even extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. The special atmosphere, the stunning location by a beautiful lake, and the surrounding nature with small islands make this place truly exceptional. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite Bungalow, which we can highly recommend. The food is excellent, and the spa area, although small, is designed with great care and staffed by professional and attentive employees. The team is friendly and helpful, and even if things sometimes take a little longer, it is easy to overlook with a smile. The pool area is outstanding, especially in the early morning and evening when the atmosphere is particularly beautiful. A perfect place for anyone seeking peace, relaxation, and a chance to truly unwind. We would love to return and recommend staying at least four nights.

“Really fun stay in stunning surroundings.”

The location is truly stunning and unique. We really appreciated how convenient our stay at Sanctuary was, they planned everything for us from the transfers from Vientiane and then onto Vang Vieng to our laundry (which was reasonable) and all our activities during our stay. The resort itself is well laid out and looking back we did so much here it felt like we were here for more than 2 nights! There’s so much on offer it would be hard to get bored. The food was good too, with a special shout out to the Lao BBQ in the restaurant which was delicious and a lot of fun. Personally we loved watching the local fishermen drive back and forwards going about their business and found it a fascinating view on local life. Also a big thank you to Boun who had that special customer service skill of making every guest feel like his favourite. Nothing was too much for him and he really made our stay feel special over Christmas! Finally we found the whole stay to be great value for what was offered.

so a strange hotel, we had to come as others in town were booked up. so on the plus side excellet chap on front desk helping us get train tickets. Lovely view over lake at sunset . comfy bed nice sun deck at each room

“Stunning location and lovely friendly staff would love to return”

Lonely lodge with a huge bed in a Stunning location great decking/patio area with sunbeds (not sure about sunken decking area though ??) The food was nice and the staff were all very friendly & helpful. Free access to pedalos, kayaks, paddle boards & a Lovely swimming pool. The manager introduced himself on our first night and told us about the eco elements of the resort. Loved it here

This is undoubtedly the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I also felt that I wasn’t adding to tourism waste or pollution.

Lovely bungalows set on the lake. Really helpful staff and it is the ideal place to relax and reset if you are on a busy trip!

The resort lies at a huge lake and besides a little village there's nothing around. There's a good variety of water sports if you are into it. We were greated by the manager Boun who is always around, taking good care of all the guests and making sure that everyone is fine. Our room was huge with a lovely view over the lake and had everything we needed. Two armchairs and a little table are handy during rainy weather. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and tasty.

We had a wonderful time at Sanctuary Nam Ngum Resort. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located for relaxing by the lake. Everything was well maintained and very comfortable. What truly made our stay special was the incredible team — everyone was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. A very special thanks to manager Boun ♥️ who went above and beyond to help us organize everything — from transportation to activities — with such warmth and professionalism. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of, and would happily return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for serenity and heartfelt service in Vang Vieng. 🌿

Our stay in late June was during the rainy season while the lake was at is lowest, reducing the lake view but still a very nice view. The staff were excellent, very polite and engaging and did a good job with making us feel welcome. The hotel provided transport to the train station when we left and this was a very good price and comfortable vehicle. The chef in the restaurant was professional and friendly and when we asked for a small takeaway lunch he was very happy to help. We booked a massage in the spa and this was good and professional.

A lovely resort with lots to do a plenty of peace. The massage we booked was so good we had two. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The staff at the front desk is unhelpful and rude. She kept refusing my US bills when I checked out. Those US bills are given from the local bank and she kept complaining those US bills are not brand new.

Lovely people, spacious clean room, nice pool, good range of Lao and Western food (best homemade ice cream ever!), stunning views over the lake (especially around sunset), the kayaks for rent, the guided walk around the village with Boun who spoke v good English but had great insight into local culture…

Absolut gorgeous spot! Super clean, with great relaxing vacation vibes. Dinner was great, they got happy hours and tasty breakfast. Lots of water activities so it won't get boring :) the Manager Bun was very helpful with great communication from the moment I made the booking. Top place!
