Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable rooms and a good breakfast

I booked this last minute after our hotel rang to say they had bed bugs and a staff member was helpful checking us in late. It's off a little side Street so it's not too busy but there is noise at night (nothing wild) and earplugs absolutely do the job. Breakfast is in another hotel nearby (Sky hotel), nice selection on the buffet. Nothing special but eggs and noodles available to order as well. Sky Hotel has a great rooftop bar to sit on in the evening to watch all the hot air balloons go by with cheap beers.

“Clean and good for a short stay”

It was good for a two-night stay, close to everything. The building is a bit old (like most places in the area), and the rooms and bathroom are too, but everything was clean and functional (both the AC and the fan worked). Breakfast was served at a nearby hotel and had a good selection of fruit, and you could also order eggs. There was also a buffet with rice, some vegetables, and I believe some meat. The staff seemed a bit stressed but generally answered questions and provided information when needed.

Got relovated from Maylay to Sky Hotel (This review is about both places as guests from Maylay can use the facilities at Sky). Nice views from the roof terrace. Breakfast was good. Comfy rooms. Fantastic shower. Cleaning upon request. Most of the staff is nice.

“Extremely great experience to stay”

The owner provided an extremely great support on arranging my activities and tour during my stay at the guesthouse in Vang Vieng! He recommended some great sites that must visit for tourists and provided suggestions for the time arrangement based on my wish without any hard sell intention. I felt truly grateful and rely on the owner so much! Though the facilities of the property is not newly built, but the room is large and comfortable to stay.

“Excellent”

Mr Ninh gives accurate advice. We arrived after midnight as the bus from Luang Prabang was 5 hrs late! The receptionist gave us the key happily. We were very grateful! It’s close to river & good cheap cafes with a sunset view. Able to book activities nearby.

“A little gem”

I stayed twice in this guesthouse. It's excellent value for the money and is in a perfect location. It's close to the centre, but is tucked away so there's no problem with noise. I also recommend Green Restaurant which is nearby and has beautiful views from it's terrace.

Great experience at Maylay Guesthouse. Host was kind enough to let me check in early for no extra cost and always said Sabaidee whenever I passed by. Rooms were clean and spacious, with a double bed. My only small gripe which is completely personal preference but the pillows were too hard to sleep on.

“Very good”

The room was cosy and clean, bright and spacious, good breakfast & access to the pool at the other hotel just around the corner, good wifi,..the laundry service was good as well. Had a nice relaxing week there.

Good breakfast (eggs etc) with tea and coffee. Friendly staff. Also a seating area and great location

“A very pleasant stay”

Nothing special, but quite satisfactory. Included a breakfast buffet that was served in another (fancier) hotel nearby. The couple who run the place are charming and very kind, despite the usual language barrier.

Ok for short stay.

The owner and his wife are by far the kindest and most helpful people we've met so far. Nothing was too.much trouble and they're ALWAYS smiling. We had really good breakfasts at the sister hotel (Sky Hotel) and full use of the pool and roof terrace. (Great for balloon watching at sunset) Ne organised train tickets for us with no fuss. Cannot fault anything about them, or our stay. Wonderful!
