The staff were extremely welcoming, the facilities were clean and better than expected and was in an excellent location.

Our receptionist did an utmost to make it comfortable for us.. and helped us out to get tickets for the festival that had place in the village. Service wise great! We booked the appartement on the top, which had an amazing view over the mountains and sun set.

It was new. Comfortable beds. Clean.

The views were stunning and the staff very friendly. When I arrived in Vang Vieng I got sick and was hospitalized, and the staff at the hotel helped me by providing me rice at first and rice porridge the next days for recovery. I stayed for two weeks.

Great location. Close to shops, restaurants, massage and temple. Quick walk anywhere you need. Breakfast is delicious. Choice of four different options, all were yummy and filling. The pool was nice and clean with an attached working spa. Loved the ceiling and design of our room.

Seriously — this place is a hidden gem that deserves a standing ovation. 👏 First off, the staff is absolutely incredible. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to have you there — it's like staying with friends who actually want you around (and not just because you brought snacks). They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. The cleanliness? Immaculate. I mean, I’ve seen operating rooms that could take notes. Every corner of the room was spotless, fresh, and smelled like a mix of sunshine and good decisions. Beds were crisp, bathrooms were pristine, and not a dust bunny dared to show its face. The vibe at Faraway is relaxed but with just the right amount of attention to detail that makes you feel taken care of without being smothered. It's the sweet spot between laid-back backpacker cool and boutique hotel polish. Bottom line: If you're heading to Laos and don't stay here, you're missing out. Treat yourself — you deserve it.

“The west vang vieng loop is perfect to do from there”

It was a nice swimming pool and nice location. No welness just in the pool some bubbels. Also the airconditioning was working very well. They rented motorbikes that were very okay.

Still in town and walking distance to everything our double room with mountain view was spacious and comfortable. It included a good shower, air conditioning, electric fan, fridge, wooden form suitable for keeping luggage off the floor, 2 chairs that could be moved to the small balcony if required, electric jug & daily water and coffee. The staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs has a restaurant bar, pool tables , relaxing area & a 7.5M pool. Very comfortable, easy to get around and value for money. Find English menus and western food at: The Happy Mango, Bamboo Bistro Garden and The Academy (tourist training school).
