“A hidden gem in La Gomera!”

This is the best place we have stayed in Las Canarias and one of the bests ever! The property is just incredible: a renovated traditional villa done in such a nice way; with absolutely everything you need but keeping the traditional charm. Very well located in the stunning valley of Vallehermoso, amazing views from the property, beautiful courtyard, high ceilings, etc. This is an excellent base were to explore la Gomera and definitely deserves more than 2-3 days. Gloria was very helpful with everything (thank you so much!) and we had one of the most epic experiences in Las Canarias, where we travel every year. We will be back!

I had a wonderful time staying at El Hornillo. I spent a week hiking and enjoying a breathtaking views and my stay at El Hornillo just complimented all so perfectly. El Hornillo is full of character, it reflects the spirit of Vallerhemoso but also care and style. Gloria is just the most wonderful host, warm, welcoming, kind and helpful. We really enjoyed staying at Casa rural El Hornillo. The apartment felt authentic and still had many of the original features of an old Spanish building of a bygone age - all very memorable. It was well equipped, spacious and very well presented. We especially enjoyed opening the large windows in the morning to take in the fine views of palm trees, the rooftops of the old town of Vallehermoso and the impressive rocky landscape. The location of apartment is within easy reach of the shops, supermarket and bus stop, and also at the starting point of many walks. We must add our thanks to the housekeeper Gloria who was very helpful and welcoming.

We had a really wonderful time. The housekeeper was very nice and went out of her way to help us and make us comfortable. The apartment was very beautiful and very comfortable.

Gorgeous old house, beautifully located in an elevated position overlooking the village square. Really well equipped. Special thanks must go to Gloria, the wonderful housekeeper, who met us outside a local cafe to walk us up to the house and show us round. On Day 2 (Sunday!), our car had a flat battery. Gloria helped us find a mechanic who sorted us out and stayed with us for 45 minutes acting as translator. She was fantastic - kind, positive, generous - and she was a lovely person, too. Thanks so much, Gloria. We'd have been in real trouble without you!!

Quirky, quiet. Lovely decor and furniture. Fabulous facilities. Great location for spectacular walks directly from the town. The bus service both ways is good. There are a couple of lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Free parking in the town square
