“Beautiful stay at the Golden Frog Inn”
Friendly staff. Beautiful view of the property grounds and mountains in the distance. Excellent breakfast provided. Nice areas to relax in. Beautiful pool area, and fun option to play pool or ping pong. It was a lush oasis.

This is a beautiful small hotel, full of character, clean, lush gardens and friendly staff. There is a great restaurant and bar on site, a lovely pool and our garden room had a nice private patio also with hamock and table.

“Perfect tropical get-away”
We had an excellent stay at The Golden Frog Inn! The staff was very nice and most of them spoke English. The location was perfect with a beautiful view of the town in the crater below. The rooms were large and clean, with very comfortable beds. The only negative was the fact that the temperature of the shower water was difficult to regulate. After finally getting the temperature just right, a few minutes later when you had soapy suds in your eyes, it would suddenly go cold for no reason! Then when you got it re-adjusted and stepped back in, a few minutes later it would go super hot for no reason. It was quite frustrating. The only other "room for improvement" I could think of, would be for the property to put out and maintain a good hummingbird station. One of the attractions to this part of the planet is all the amazing tripical birds that live there. Why would a nice hotel NOT have a good hummingbird station?!? We did go on a day tour at Canopy Lodge, which is a Mecca for bird watchers. They have an elaborate bird feeding station that is simply AMAZING! It doesn't have to be that elaborate. But I would recommend The Golden Frog Inn add something to attract a few of the beautiful birds for guests to enjoy.

“Beautiful place”
Beautiful property, comfortable room, nice breakfast and friendly staff. There were a lot of birds to watch just in the garden and the neighborhood.

“Nice hotel but unfriendly stuff”
The room we stayed in was on the first floor with a very nice view. It was spacious and clean, equipped with a fridge and coffee maker (though it would have been nice to have an electric kettle as well). Breakfast was perfectly fine. The gardens were beautifully maintained, and the hotel has a pool, which we unfortunately didn’t get to use due to the weather, but it looked very inviting. The location of the hotel is quiet, which we really appreciated, and overall cleanliness was excellent.
