Very nice place to stay and the host was nice and accomodating

“Lovely stay up in the hills of Valle”

The location was gorgeous up in the hills, surrounded by birds. Great for birdwatching (if you’re into it - we weren’t but now we are :D ) Host was lovely, very helpful and gave us a couple of lifts to and from town when we had our baggage, which was much appreciated,

Just a superb relaxing holiday location. House: Good fridge and freezer. Comfortable bed. Good warm shower. Airco is not needed,even in the middle of summer. Friendly host. And especially the garden. Wonderful! We saw a sloth, toekans, hummingbirds, oropendola, crimson backed tanager, stripe cheeked woodpeckers, motmot...

Spectacular bird watching from the balcony! A really wonderful place to sit and enjoy natute. It was comfortable and well set up for self catering. Patricia was very helpful about the local area.

We loved the place, it’s surrounded with beautiful garden with animals we could see in the morning. It’s very peaceful, ideal for relaxing. I wish we could stay longer. Host is really nice, ask her about hiking trails and area, she knows everything😊! La Chachalaca has a unique vibe!

It’s a wonderful place to enjoy nature and you will see sooooo many birds. The kitchen was súper well equipped and above all: we felt so welcome! Thank you

I wanted to be immersed in nature and that's exactly what this place gave me. The most relaxing nights sleep of my year - the rainforest ambience was out of this world. You get an entire room, kitchenette, bathroom to yourself - really clean and cared for. On top of that, I also had a terrace to myself with chairs, a table and a view of two bird feeders . She provided me with fruit to feed them and ended up seeing a lot of different species of bird (and a few mammals). This place was so relaxing that I could happily spend the whole.day and night there without leaving. Not only that. It has a garden on a slope which makes an excellent night trail for wildlife spotting. There are plenty of small nature trails within 9 minutes or less.of this place, as well as a rover that I was able to climb down to and do some night time wildlife spotting. I managed to see a sloth, a glass frog, plenty of insects, possums, squirrels, tree frogs all either on the property or on the path leading to it. Very happy with my choice and I'd recommend this to friends and family for a peaceful nights stay for nature lovers. The hostess was also really accommodating - she picked me up when I arrived in El Valle de Anton, and dropped me off where I needed to be when it came time to leave, whilst also giving good advice about nearby hikes.

We had an amazing stay at la Chachalaca. Pati was a wonderful host; she informed us well before we arrived and told us alot about what to do in El Valle and the birds. We loved the view, the nature and all the birds. The appartment was nice with good equiped kitchen and hot shower.

Extraordinary place, wonderfull and very helpfull host. I have been in many different countrie’s cloud forest area, this place is one of the best I have been stayed. I had the upstair room with breath taking wievs, do not hasitate and go there, you won’t regret. The downstair room has also wiev to woods, wonderfull oportinitie to see birds, mammels etc. If I will go to Valley again, I will not stay anywhere else even for free.

Pati has truly build a little paradise up the hill. She is amazingly kind and because we did not hav a car picked us up from the bus station. The balcony has a plate to feed the animals and Pati left us papaya to give them! We saw so many birds and even toucans and a pyzote who hangs around the area. Very special. The house itself has everything you might need with a fully equiped kitchen. Pati is very helpful when it comes to what hikes you can do or where to go shopping. This stay has really made our holiday.

One of our highlights of Panama, like a home from home so comfortable and everything you need. Patty is a wonderful host and she went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The garden is like a mini nature reserve and botanical garden in one. There are fireflies at night and the toucans and birds that come to the bird table are truly an amazing experience. If you go to Anton valley this is my place to stay its the best.

“Beautiful, peaceful place surrounded by nature”

Amazing location in the middle of the forest, lovely & helpful owner

We stayed 3 nights at La Chachalaca and we really loved it. The view was fantastic. We slept so well, surrounded by the birds chirping and the sound of the wind. We fed the birds daily and we managed to see quite a variety of them, including the mesmerising toucan. Patricia was a very kind host, always available with information and recommendations.

Excellent and tranquil location with loads of birdlife (and with a bit of searching, sloths!) and a friendly host. The garden is beautiful and the accommodation exceeded our expectations - there is a also a well-equiped kitchen in the house.

Patti is a wonderful host who is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The accommodation is tranquil, surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife, in the middle of the forest. The town is easily accessible via a pleasant 30/40 minute walk. I spent 4 wonderful nights relaxing and will for sure be back.
