Doesn't get more authentic Soviet era than this hotel. Good price, but you do get what you pay for.

Very easy to find. Staffed reception with friendly receptionists. Good location, a short walk from the bus and train stations and the city centre is close enough to walk. Clean, comfortable room with great views. Quiet if the windows are closed. Classic architecture. I would stay again.

This hotel is certainly way underrated. Its central location, panoramic rooms, cleanliness and the nice staff really deserves a way better rating. I really look forward to my next stay here.

“A beautiful massive Soviet-built hotel which feels like a town of its own”
This hotel is a living legend -- it's a big organism with a life of its own, a city within city so to say. Staying there is more than just having a bed to sleep, you become part of it. The building is and there's a big variety of people staying at any one time. Is also immensely beautiful inside out although perhaps not always the most comfortable but who cares. It's one of those places which can do everything wrong but still be great (altho I am not saying they did everything wrong, of course, not at all). Absolutely loved the 24/7 bar downstairs with the most amazing staff!
