The villas are simple but clean and have a little patio to sit on. Only abou 200m from the beach. The host is really nice and there is a lovely pool and garden.

Villas Maria Luisa was a great experience to stayed excellent and friendly staff 👌the manager Yared was very friendly and helpful and professional answered every question we had about the place if we didn't know he helped us in everything he could thank you Yared! room was super clean and had all that we need inside like a microwave little cooker fridge glasses dishes cutlery cups TV air conditioning and fan etc plus a great location 2 mits walking from Colonia beach ⛱️

I really liked the clean and cool air conditioning. The bed was just the right size and thick enough to be very comfortable, with two high-grade pillows that made it even better. I also appreciated the extra mantels; they definitely added to a restful sleep. The staff were wonderful; special thanks to the receptionist who quickly brought me a couple of paracetamols when I wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, I was having chills during my stay, so that gesture meant a lot. Having breakfast delivered to our room was another comfort, and it was delicious! The overall ambience was great, too. It’s just a shame I was too tired to enjoy the pool; but I’ll definitely do that next time when I stay longer. Overall rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) – A cozy and accommodating stay. Would definitely come back!

“A nature lover's cabin hotel fantasy come true!”

I love this cabin hotel concept! The villas and cabins are surrounded by lots of beautiful greenery. You'll see monkeys, stunning butterflies... It's very private yet right by the beach (which will take your breath away btw). It felt very unpretentious and I liked the crowd around there a lot. Came for a short trip from Manuel Antonio which is very 'White Lotus' (wealthy tourists, less community focused). Also... Villas Maria Luisa is Costa Rican-owned which is another reason to book, I believe. There are a lot of mosquitos on the premises (!) but my cabin was 100% proof and you're fine as long as you have a good repellent. Just come prepared. I also had solid air conditioning so the value for money was exeptional. I wish I coud have stayed longer and will definitely come back. If you're a nature lover and like more of an authentic, local experience... this is the one.

This is a great place to stay! Excellent, attentive staff! Always quick with check-ins and any needs/requests you might have. Clean everywhere you look. Super close to the beach! Stores and restaurants very close by. Affordable pricing!

Everything went perfect from quick, courteous check in, extremely clean accommodations, refreshing clean pool, well equipped kitchenette, powerful A/C, quiet surroundings and a very short 5 minute walk right to the beach! Villas Maria Luisa is a great place to be! You can hear the ocean inside your room/cabina!

Villas Maria Luisa was easy to find after asking a few friendly locals familiar with the area. We were attended to promptly by the staff at Villas Maria Luisa. Everyone working at the Villas was courteous, friendly and professional. Our room was clean with good A/C. The small kitchen(!) was equipped well enough to enhance the quality of our stay. Our shower did have hot water,, as hot as was necessary (electric showerhead, very common in these countries).The property is fairly expansive which allowed for great privacy! Being that this is the 'low' season the ambience was very quiet and laid back! Pricing is very fair considering location, privacy and amenities. We will definitely return.

Brilliant location right by the 3rd and more quiet entrance to the national park. This entrance has a lifeguard tower right next to it, so good place to go in the ocean (although there are rip tides so you can’t swim out). Lovely garden with lots of different birds. Really friendly and helpful people that run the place.

Large property that feels like summer camp with pool, sport field, bbq area and garden. It was hard to tell what kind of room we were getting from the reservation, but it was a duplex mini apartment with A/C, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Parking was nearby in the back of property. The pool was great. The host only spoke Spanish, which was fine, he was very kind. The bird life was amazing! Especially the dawn song.
