Lovely staff

Breakfast was good, juice and coffee on self service plus buffet. Hot breakfast to order. Amazing cocktails provided by Chris and Pierre - Spicy Margarita to die for. Laundry service for a charge was fab large basket wash n dry.

Everything was very nice, comfortable beds and pillows. Nice cozy pool. Breakfast was really good. Lovely fresh tropical fruits. Pier from the reception desk was attentive and polite.

It is an absolutely wonderful place. Everything is very clean, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are incredibly kind. We felt very comfortable here. We stayed for four nights and will really miss this place.

“Pretty, perfect location, super comfortable”

Pierre was incredibly welcoming, accomodating and pleasant. The environment was social, allowing me to meet many other travellers. Yet it was never loud at night and they enforced a quiet time from 10pm, which was great. Breakfast was great. I will definitely come back.

We had a great stay at the Tucan hotel. Pierre and Sebastian were incredibly helpful and booked our trips for us. We were also upgraded free of charge. Good value for money would recommend.

“A lovely boutique feeling hotel at a reasonable price”

Pool - kept beautifully clean and refreshing Staff - Pierre, Sebastian and Stephen were fabulous and when we had trouble with a boat taxi, they went above and beyond to help us find a solution. Breakfast - fresh and varied. Outside seating area was really well designed, lots of comfortable chairs and hammocks arranged really well, games and books to use also. Located close to main high street. Lovely showers and comfortable bed. Really creatively decorated. Can tell that someone has really gone to a lot of effort to make the place look attractive and there is lady that cleans and gardens every day so it all looks lovely.

Oh wow. This scores a 10 on our trip around Costa Rica. The place is perfect but the people are even better! Steven and Pierre are wonderful hosts who can guide you on just about everything. We feel cared for - which I have never written in a review before but that's how it feels at Tucan! We checked in for 2 nights initially but ended up staying for 3. A wonderful stay and I do not wish to leave. The pool is beautiful, the bed is dreamy, the breakfast is delicious and sustaining and the bikes we hired were fab. Thank you Tucan :)

“Paraíso en Uvita”

Very good amenities, we have a welcome tour on the check in so we were explained everything, it’s better than in the pictures the hang out area is great, lots of books and games, breakfast is buffet plus gallo pinto as much as you want and everything is delicious, the pool and the swimming pool are great! Rooms are comfortable and shower has good pressure and hot water ! Close to the bank, bus stop and bus station as well as lots of bars, supermarket, walking distance to the Uvita waterfall, we also manage to do Nauyaca which we thought we will not be able to as it was out of our budget but they offer a cheap service of shuttle there with pick up included after and the entrance to the park itself is not expensive so we ended up going and was a great experience. They allow us to leave our bags there and then use the communal shower when we came back before getting our bus to Manuel Antonio, will always recommend ! I wish we stayed longer !!!!

Apart from the beautiful setting and location near the restaurants and beaches your host Pierre definitely goes way beyond expectations to be helpful and informative and he also makes a fabulous Mojito.

“Tucan is definitely worth checking out!”

Its cozy but has a lot of space and different areas where guests can relax. They have hammocks in lobby and a pool in the back that is quite lovely.

Everything was just perfect. The location is very close to the bus stop, restaurants and a huge supermarket. It’s an easy walk to the waterfalls and you can also just walk to the beach. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel has got a great area to chill and connect with other travellers. A clean pool and an opportunity to play billard. The breakfast was just amazing, the best one I had on my whole Costa Rica trip. You get fresh fruits, cereals, toast, freshly backed waffles or pastry’s and you get the typical breakfast freshly prepared for you as soon as you get to breakfast. 10/10 - well deserved!

The whole place is great. From hot, hot showers ( loved the semi outdoor one)to the most incredible breakfast ever! The dorm is the cubical type and done well with a fan and light, feels private even when full. It is close to the bus terminal and supermarket and the waterfalls.of course. A bit of a trek to the beach but Uvita doesn't seem to have one centre!
