Such a lovely house and the en-suite room was amazing. It’s a very small village and very peaceful, exactly what I wanted. Very close off the main road, but far enough for it to feel remote. Beautiful winery walks nearby. Many thanks

It was a beautifully decorated town house turned into rooms by the looks of it. Lovely garden and really friendly host. Gave us directions to a local town (7 minute drive away) to go out for dinner. Lovely view of the courtyard. And as we were alone in the building for the night they upgraded our room for free! Plus a really friendly cat lived opposite 🥰

It was a very quiet, special location and very authentic.

“A magical atmosphere”

What a magical little village! The atmosphere that surrounds the hotel is quite unique and so peaceful. We arrived in the night and the square of the village was a delight, with tiny colorful lights that outlined the foliage of majestic threes. Another three, even more majestic, was standing as guardian in front of the building in which we slept. Our bedroom was really charming, finely adorned and clean. The owner has been hospitable since our arrive and we spent a wonderful night.

Eric is a very charming and welcoming host, very obviously keen to share his historic and comfortable home with his guests. On arrival we were offered a refreshing cool drink in his lovely garden and met his beautiful cat. He was able to accommodate our request for the two rooms we booked to be close to each other, and we shared a shower room (which was also used by another guest). Initially finding the house was slightly tricky, as although in a village even from using a Maps app it wasn't completely clear that you need to go through a very narrow stone archway, so more detailed instructions would be really useful. Parking outside the house was no problem. The location is in a small rural village, about 10 minutes from the popular town of Pezanas which has a wide selection of restaurants and a very good Saturday market. The tranquillity was only broken by the local church bells ringing on the hour (even throughout the night!). The breakfast we had of bread, croissants and a variety of home-made jams was good value. Eric was very happy to chat with his guests and offer advice on where to eat out, the local attractions etc. and we would definitely stay at his home again when in the area.

We loved staying at Eric's Villa Fontihla! It is located in a cute French village, and has a special charm - it was so nice staying there that I was thinking of prolonging our stay. A wonderfully refurbished house, an exceptional host, Eric, who was beyond kind, very helpful, informative, interesting and charming. We really enjoyed our stay, the long, tasty and fresh breakfast in the beautiful garden of Villa Fontihla, conversations with Eric and another guest. Would come back in a heartbeat and recommend without hesitation! Thank you so much Eric! :-)
