“Good hotel overall, location not great.”

Thought the staff were really good and they tried their best to help. However, there was a communication barrier. They didn't speak great English, however you can manage with Google translate. It still, made it difficult to organize tours etc. You could message them over Whatsapp, which made it easy to organize a taxi. The facilities were very clean and looked very nice. However, it can be cold at night. They have extra blankets but there doesn't seem to be a heating system in the room. The main issue is the location. 20min to ollyamabam by taxi, 13min to urumbama. There isn't any restaurant or much life in general around the hotel. Food in the hotel is average, but good if you're stuck.

Staff were super friendly. The place is very nicely kept. Our room was exactly as in the pictures. Food at the restaurant was very good.

“Perfect basecamp in Sacred Valley”

Despite not having a pool, the place is perfect for a resting trip or to use it as a "basecamp" to explore the Sacred Valley if you have a car. Urubamba is less than 10-min by car and Ollantaytambo less than 15-min. There are many restaurants nearby and you can even ask delivery and get the food in your room!

“Worst hotel we stayed at in Peru”

Worst hotel we had in Peru. We had some complaints (bad pillows, broken toilet door) the man at the reception seemed to want to help us, but the woman (we think the manager) not gave into anything and always started to mumble in Spanish infront of us and then nothing was possible or nothing was wrong. The accomodation asked multiple times if they could help us with planning a trip. At first I found this helpfull but when I asked for a driver and English guide to Maras they couldn't find one. Someone in the loby wanted to drive us for an okay price but then the female manager started to negociate a higher price because of the hotel commission. There was a lack off or underachievement on all sides (cleaning, restaurant, limited breakfast, service). You hear the neighbours and at the time of our stay there where a lot of families with crying and shouting children at night. It felt like we had a spare room, the (double deluxe) room didn't seem to be cleaned regularly (dust, big spiders in the curtains, toilet door didn't close, 1 bathrobe and 2 towels for 2 guests, chair missing) There are no blinds in the open bathroom and above the door. The night lights shine bright in the room. Biggest disapointment is that there is no drinking water provided. When asking for it the female manager reassured the water is very clean to brush your teeth but in the same sentence they warn not to drink the water. Very dubious. It seems only a small effort to provide a water bottle when the running water is not 100% safe.

Hotel Intarerra is nothing less than exceptional, rooms are very spacious, stylishly built with high-standards furniture and great attention to the smallest details. Bed was very comfortable and room was even equipped with smart tv and Netflix. A bonus was also the presence of a fireplace which could be used for only 5 soles for wood! Staff was friendly and helpful. View of the mountains all around completed the beautiful picture. Super recommended!

The room has a fire place (20 Soles for fire, staff is making a fire for you in your room) and a jacuzzi! Very comfy beds and heater in the room. Netflix and good internet available. Breakfast included. Large terrace on top of the restaurant with a nice view, great place to do yoga!

The owner of the property and the concierge are very responsive. You can book a taxi/ local guide/ dinner through their concierge on WhatsApp (they will give you the contact once you checked in).

Simple breakfast, bread eggs etc. Dinner though was incredible, highly recommend to try it. The villa was nice size with good kitchen. Staff was super friendly.

The staff was lovely ,very polite, helpful and super friendly. We had a bad experience with trains being delayed in ollantaytambo due to the political situation in Peru and the staff was so caring and protective of us . They also brought us a bag with food to take to the train to Macchu Picchu , so thoughtful . I was traveling with my 2 young adult children and their support made the trip much easier bearing in mind we arrived to urubamba during a political chaotic time in Peru

“Mixed feelings but surely no 4 stars luxury experience”

The service staff is absolutely friendly and always eager to help, just a pity that they don’t really speak English so we had to communicate with the general manager via WhatsApp. Very nice surroundings and new facilities, it was quite comfortable and cozy.

Our room was pretty nice, the bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Also the room was warm enough. The area and landscape is beautiful, and there are many interesting places to visit nearby - thought it is recommended to have a car.
