Explora in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was designed as a headquarter from where to explore a remote and great destination: Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our lodge is within walking distance of the traditional village of Urquillos, a tiny settlement in which countless traditions are kept alive year-round by a lively and proud local community. The 50 rooms have views of the cornfields and mountains. They were covered in wood and have cozy touches in the decoration, which transform them into a unique place to disconnect and enjoy the destination. The gastronomic experience in Explora Sacred Valley of the Incas was developed exclusively by the renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, owner of the world’s number one restaurant in the world, according to The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 ranking. Our cuisine is inspired by the Andes and its diversity of products, ingredients and traditions. Through it, we want each of our travelers to deeply connect with the territory we inhabit and live a unique gastronomic experience in the Valley. Our Spa Pumacahua Bath House is a colonial house from the seventeenth century located on one side of the hotel’s corn terraces. Rescued by our restoration and archeology team, it contains the hotel Spa where our guests can enjoy massages, the swimming pool, hot tubs and saunas.

Everything about this hotel is pure luxury. The attention to detail is immaculate. It exceeded all of our expectations. The staff are so attentive and friendly. The food is outstanding. The spa area is like a French château with beautiful rooms and doors. The scenery around the hotel is magic.

“An Andean delight - best hotel in Peru”
Incredible hotel nestled deep in the heart of Sacred Valley. Everything was top notch, including the explorations and gastronomy. Each meal was perfect and we loved learning about the ingredients from our wait staff. We had a lovely Pachamanca dinner on the final night and got to meet chef Manuel. All the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our days doing small explorations and resting in our beautiful lodge. This was a perfect place to chill after all the traveling we did in Peru - thank you team Explora... we will be back!

The proactive care taken by the staff at Explora to organise a smooth arrival and departure, as well as the constant check-in and courtesy, the beauty of the site, the comfort of the beds, the sate room to details and room set up for the night, the spa (perfect to relax after a day adventuring), the experiences offered, the books about Peru in the lounge area, the awesome guide. The food!! All was fantastic!

“A magnificent hiking experience with excellent staff and service”
The property is an architectural delight as are the rooms. The staff especially the guides and bar staff were exceptional both in service and character. The ethos of Explora is to explore and our hiking / car based trips certainly lived up to our expectations.

I am honored to be the first bed & breakfast guest of the hotel. of who is rarely leave reviews online. but As the first honored guest, and for such a guest who travels alone around the world and is somewhat perfectionist, but still I must give a perfect 10 Thank you to all your colleagues for their concern and excellent service, especially all the waiters in the restaurant , thanks General Manager Diego. Everything was perfect during the five days there.
