Breakfast was available at their restaurant across the street. The service was very good. It g be ad a good selection of choices.

When my clients arrived at the hotel, reception told them that there was no reservation for them. I spoke to reception, with my confirmed reservation in hand. There was no reservation in my name or in my clients' names. After a long and difficult conversation with reception, we discovered that the reservation existed, but under a name not my own. Somewhere in the reservation process, my English language last name had been changed to a Mexican last name--not changed by me and not changed by hotel staff. How could this have happened? What responsibility does Booking.com have for this error which so disturbed me and my clients? What if I had not been available to speak to reception as my clients were trying to check in? What if I were not a fluent Spanish-speaker and wasn't able to figure out the idiotic translation of my English-language last name into a Spanish-language word? A day into my clients' stay at Mi Solar, I looked at my bank account and saw that MY DEBIT CARD had been charged for the full amount of my clients' stay at the hotel. I called the hotel and was told that my debit card had been presented for payment. In fact, my debit card was in my possession and had never been presented at the hotel. In fact, my CLIENT had paid for the full stay full upon arrival. The hotel then suggested that MY CLIENT pay me for the charge to my debit card. In other words, for the error made by the hotel, they wanted MY CLIENT to solve the problem rather than take responsibility. The hotel then told me that they would stop the voucher charged to me, but that the charge to my debit card would not be reversed for approximately 30 days. That was not at all satisfactory to me. After another day passed, the reception employee called to say that he would go to the bank and deposit the full cash amount to my bank account rather than make me wait 30 days. This whole episode was ridiculous, as my card was never presented to the hotel.

The location was a block away from the main plaza, but on a quiet side street - perfect!

We swapped our double room for the juniour suit becase we wanted a bit more space, and it was a great decision! The junior suite has a gorgeous view of the mountains, with a separate area with a couch, a very comfortable bed and and everything we needed. There were a couple of things that weren't properly working in the room, but the staff was quick to solve them and give us an alternative. Overall, a very lovely room to relax and enjoy Uruapan!
