“The most wonderful experience!”

After travelling South America for two months, this is my favourite place I’ve stayed. It was such a unique experience staying on the floating islands of Uros. Diego and Milagros made me feel so welcome and showed me around the islands for two hours to see how the community lives and how the islands are made. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and the room was so cosy and clean. I would also recommend doing the day trip to Taquile Island too if you get a chance.

Everything was great. Juan and his family were very welcoming with warm hospitality. Juan gave us a wonderful in-depth tour of the UROS community and did everything to make our stay very comfortable. He even allowed us to checkout late as our next Peru Hop bus was at night. Overall, a 10 out 10 experience.

“Must visit on Uros”

Juan and his family were amazing from start to finish! He brought us around on our own little private tour, showing and telling us much more than any day trip ones. The lodge itself was BEAUTIFUL. The balcony part had a bed and table and chairs where we lounged in the sun and you can watch the sunset (or the storms in our case). The inside was perfect, probably the biggest bed I have ever slept in! Lovely hot shower. Juan made us a delicious dinner and breakfast and even let us chill in the lodge until whatever time we liked the next day before heading back to Puno. Highly recommend!

Juan is such a lovely, attentive host. We loved our stay on the floating islands. The rooms are so nicely decorated with stunning views of the lake, with a lovely outdoor bed to enjoy the sunset. He even arranged a very early pick up for us from Puno as we arrived from a night bus, providing early check in and a lovely breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, tea was available all day and there are plenty of cosy blankets to keep warm in the evening as it does get chilly when the sun goes down. We were pleasantly surprised by the powerful, warm showers. Unfortunately we were ill when staying in Uros and so we didn't do the tour of the island but Juan was so caring, checking in and offering tea. They also prepared vegetarian meals and offered a very early breakfast on the day we were leaving to get an early bus to Bolivia. This was a really special stay, getting an understanding of life on the floating islands.

Exceptional experience staying on a floating island. Our host, Juan was fantastic from the moment we met him until we left the next day. He was full of stories of his life and family connection to the Uros Islands. he went out of his way to cater for our interests such as history, nature and local schooling. Juan had the right balance of nurturing for his guests and the right amount of humour to have us smiling as we motored around the islands, cut reeds, ate dinner/breakfast, etc.

Juan was most welcoming, he guided us around the islands on his boat. Took us for a delicious lunch, bought us back to the lodge & served tea while we watched the sunset from our day bed on the terrace. Dinner was also lovely. Juan also organised a trip to Isla Taquile for us and arranged for a driver to meet us back at the port in Puno to take us to our hotel. Juan was the best host you could wish for.

We loved our stay at the lodge. Juan and his family made us feel very welcome and were happy to help with all aspects of our holiday - arranging a boat tour, managing our preferred arrival time, a personal tour of the Uros Islands, vegetarian breakfast and dinner, booking taxis to collect us when we arrived and a taxi to take us to the airport after our stay. Would definitely recommend!

The location was incredible with a beautiful view of the sunset each day. The people were amazing, Juan in particular was super friendly and helpful and his English was superb but he is capable in lots of different languages. The food was also delicious with fresh fruit and pancakes for breakfast!

It was a nice play: great spot to spend your time on the Lake. Juan - host - is extremely friendly and helpful - he will explain everything also will meet you at the boat station and tell everything about Uros as he lives there for all his life.

The host Felix is the life of the place ! He is amazing and his wife cooked Great food for us ! Felix is friendly ,industrious and hospitable ! I had a mild touch of altitude on day 1 and he helped as much as he could! Very sweet ! The place is unique and unmissable!!

We loved everything about our stay at Félix' place! If you truly want an immersive experience about how Uro people live on their islas flotantes on the lake than you are right with Félix! He speaks really good English and is very knowledgeable - you will learn so much! Additionally: great location, incl. boat pick-up, wonderful view, stylish daybed up front, comfortable bed, delicious food! A perfect 10! 🤗🏆

First of all, the host's welcome and care - his help and commitment were unprecedented! I felt special during the entire stay, and I also had a wonderful boat trip around the Uros Islands with an amazing host guide.

Felix was such a great host. He cared about us very much, organized the transportation and showed us the life and the history of the Uros. The view over the lake from the apartments are incredible and it’s very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for taking some days off.

Felix & his family were abundantly welcoming. The entire experience was a memory for a lifetime as Felix invited us to live like Uros locals in his humble abode. Beyond the 10/10 hospitality, Felix was also extremely knowledgable and was generous enough to impart his wisdom upon us through an educational visit around town. The rooms were unbelievably comfortable, Felix ensured we were warm at night, and the meals were some of the best we had in Peru. Highly recommended!
